The punishment - for passing on - according to the club charter is a 5 match ban. For selling tickets - it’s considerably more. And they do eject fans (apparently 16 ejected yesterday) and impose lengthy bans etc.
Exactly my point - a 5 game ban for passing on my 2 ST guest tickets to Fam and Blud who act like knobs, yet a 10 game ban if I give junior my away ticket because I’m ill and can’t go. Wrong way round.

3 ejected from the East Lower and were still giving it large as they were escorted out. Apparently, one of them got a slap when they reached the concourse.

I’ve never bought or even been asked by anyone to buy additional tickets, I’m not sure how it works tbh. As a ST holder can I buy anyone a ticket or do they have to be a member or have purchase history?
I have often thought if someone buys an additional ticket for a friend they have to trust that friend 100% to behave at the Amex.
ST guest tickets usually on sale sometime after A+ sales and before general sale. No names on tickets, ST holder is named and responsible for the ticket holder

Silly old bat
Maybe the club shouldn't be allowing STH to be buying 2 additional tickets, as was the case yesterday. The temptation will always be for the wise guys to sell them on as a nice little earner
Which is why I tagged the club on two tweets yesterday touting tickets..

Thank you, I’m seeing a flaw in this system if the season ticket holder isn’t sitting with the people that have the additional tickets.
Albion ST holders really have to trust these people 100% if they are getting them tickets.

Not really….because of the LP you are earning despite not attending the away game. I’m sure you yourself have made this point before :)

I'm an STH and I've bought a mate a ticket for the Liverpool game. For that game it is 'Buy 1 ticket per eligible fan number'. IE a STH can buy 1 extra ticket. I used the Print At Home option. At no point was I required to enter any details of who I was buying the ticket for. For Arsenal game it was 'Buy 2 tickets per eligible fan number' IE I could have bought extra 2 tickets and the club would have no idea who was sitting in those seats unless they were to draw attention to themselves by acting like dickheads

Exactly……yet we keep getting told the club have to know ‘exactly who is in the ground’ when justifying other schemes

I’ve bought guest tickets many times but always careful about who has them - it’s my ST at risk.

I’m sure a few decent Albion fans get their arms twisted to buy tickets for work “mates” that are life long “fans” of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool etc.

Yep, but that wasn’t the point being discussed
I thought the point being discussed is lack of ticket policing for home games compared to away games. A few have claimed that Arsenal fans in the home ends yesterday means the club should ease off on ticket checks at away matches. I think that’s nonsensical as it creates unintended consequence on lower tier away fans.

More about availability/sale policy than policing isn’t it ? The club (unavoidably really) allow sales in the home end to away fans (all they need is a membership - easy to see an avid big London Club fan - particularly if they’re local - being willing to pay a £35 premium on one ticket a season) and allow hordes of unnamed people in the ground through ST Guest ticket purchases Who aren’t usually sat anywhere near their ST holder who bought the tickets. Not sure what the solution is but I don’t really see the comparison with the away checks/policy which looks already to be doing it’s job to a large extent.

I've been asked to get tickets by a Liverpool-supporting acquaintance.

Told him where to go, obviously.

Sorry, I only responded because it was you that made the comparison with the penalty for passing on your away ticket if you are ill. I’m just saying the answer is to up the penalty for home ticket misuse rather than decrease it for away ticket misuse. If you were saying the same thing then fair enough. Others have used yesterday as part of the online war of attrition against the club’s away checks. Maybe I should have replied to one of them rather than yourself.
