I’ve been watching the person in your seat:
Clacker
Phone light
Mexican wave
Left on 85mins

Shame on them.

No self respecting masochist leaves on 85mins.

Just got home, loved that.

Left a little early it might be said but job done, can't wait for next week.

Good to hear those kids in the Norff doing a solitary song rather than 3.

Of course I watched.

I like the English womens team. I've read very in-depth stories about the team in 1984, how they against all odds beat Denmark in the semi-finals and then took it all the way to penalties against a much superior Swedish team. All through hard work. No support from the people in England, no support from the media, no support from your FA - they got 15 pounds a day (a loss for everyone but the youngest players), didn't get any accomodation in away games (slept at the floors in schools etc), didn't get a pitch to train on before the final (practiced on a dogshit-littered playground in Luton), several clubs rejecting them to play the Euro finals on their grounds (eventually Luton accepted as they were changing their pitch to artificial grass anyway)... worst conditions, yet heroic performances. Meanwhile the ****ing 1966 lot that were given all kind of advantages are some kind of heroes... bollocks.

The English ladies always fought for it, often harder than any other nation, they are the true heroes, just based on history the brave and undervalued English women deserve to get a gold medal. Of course I support the Swedes but it would be lovely if the English women smacked all the dumb-ass sexist gammons right in the face and got the gold and the glory.

Just pop him on ignore then and job done? Personally, I enjoy reading Swansman's perspectives. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't; but I feel they come from a good place, are genuinely held and add rather than detract.

Seems to a few #TeamsLikeNorway comments around here.
If you don't want/like other fans putting your team down, don't do it to to others.

Clearly the mighty Amex inspired the EWNT to glory! :albion2:

Well said, young man. You have a lot of knowledge, that makes some people on here feel very uncomfortable.

This England side are now record Breakers, no side has ever scored 7 at a Euro finals before.

Absolute bullet header for the 7th,no keeper is stopping that.

Has any team ever scored 8 goals in 1 match at the Amex before?

I’m glad that the license payer is funding this sort or retweet at the BBC:

“Stevo: Wow. Just like watching the Seagulls beat Man U a couple of months back...plus a few more goals.”

Yes. Texted my brother-in-law (Utd fan) 3/4 way through the first half: "Worst away performance at the Amex in years, except for a game just a few months ago".

Well said.

(I disagree with you only 15% of the time, and when I do, it's a 'Jesus Christ, on Fire*' moment, but anyway. Considering what you have to contend with, you make the top 10% of what makes NSC great. So there.)

Well, why wouldn't I admire the English womens team?

Just look at the final from 1984 (double leg). Sweden were supported by the Swedish FA, they had skill, quality, professionalism and a great preconditions while the English team was seen as a waste of time and money and only had their will power and fighting spirit. To quote Hope Powell, who was a 17 year old reserve back then: "No one cared about us. There was nothing in the papers and no one recognised us on the streets. We met on Friday, practiced once on Saturday and played on Sunday. We slept in sleeping bags on the floor in gymnasiums". Yet they were able to beat and challenge teams that were light years ahead of them.

Just watch the second game, on Kenilworth Road, where England won 1-0 to take it to penalties. They were warriors. Watch Deborah Bampton, technically a pretty shite footballer, dominate the midfield just through her work rate and fearless duelling. How can you not be charmed by that? How is it possible not to appreciate it? If England win this tournament, these (now old) and hundreds of later players for the English womens team, who played their heart out for their flag despite much ridicule and very little love in return, would tear up because not only would the efforts of English footballing women be tolerated, but also cherished by - presumably - a wide majority. A type of justice that certainly gives me a bit of goosebumps.

Sad to see so many empty seats throughout and an attendance well below capacity when it’s been impossible to get tickets. I’d have liked to have been there but will be there next Wednesday, at least.

Was a great game to watch.

I believe we scored all 7 goals in the 6 - 1 against Blackpoo

Not forgetting we scored 19 goals at the Amex a couple of seasons ago. Mind you that was across all 19 home games.
