Who gets dropped when he’s ready to start .or will he have to bide his time on the bench?

Very difficult decision. Assuming full fitness, for me Dunk and Webster must start with A.N Other. Burn has been very good in last couple of games. Duffy has been solid in most games and Veltman is mr dependable. Of course depends on the opposition as well but IMHO Dunk Webster and Burn..just.

Burn or Duffy, don’t mind which one. Whatever happens though, when he’s fit enough he comes straight back into the side. We miss him.

When they’re all fit and Lamptey is fully up to speed, I hope to see a back 3 of Veltman, Dunk and Webster with Lamptey and Cucurella either side.

BDB. Both BDB and Duffy have skills and mistakes in them. Skills wise and mistakes wise I think Duffers edges it.

Though GPott tends to bring a player in gently after injuries so I'd expect to see him on the bench and come on at 60/70 mins mark.

I'd agree with this. Burn was pretty pretty good against Norwich (apart from when he gave the ball to Pukki), he is much better with the ball than Duffy but the Duffy/Dunk/Webster corner/set-piece threat is huge and we're more solid with those three. What is clear though is that Lamptey is going to have to play his way into the starting line-up in Veltman's place. He did not do enough against Norwich so it's the bench again for him against Citeh i believe.

Duffy has goals in him though. I put BDB and Duffy fairly level in ability but nowhere near Duffy when it comes to attacking threat. When we are looking to score more goals this season that's a deal breaker for me.

That said, Webster offers quite a goal (and build up) threat so maybe Gpot will sacrifice Duffy for BDB's last ditch blocks/tackles.

It's a tough one.

Given we won 9 points from 12 available with Duffy, Dunk and Webster together I would say Burn will miss out

Webster can wait his turn. All the defenders have a rick in them. All have strengths and weaknesses. Dunk is undroppable. He's our captain and leader. Then it's down to Potter to find a blend. We aren't conceding goals, so that isn't the issue. Cucurella has been outstanding on the left, but March was pretty hot till injury struck. Solly is having to wait in line. Lamptey was like a comet blasting down the right till he too was struck by injury. He has to wait too. Personally, I think Duffy is undroppable too. His forward play actually creates a goal threat whereas, dare I suggest, Webster's forward runs don't. Burn is an enigma. Too tall for much of his game yet he isn't. Provides an aerial threat that he never delivers, yet forces attention from defenders. And those legs allow him to make great tackles. Webster is solid and his driving runs were looking more threatening combined with solid defending. But Potter will know as well as we do that he comes back rusty. In my opinion, too rusty to risk against Citeh and Liverpool, not the games to get up to speed. After that, like Tariq having to wait, it's surely up to Potter to see if and where Webster can improve the blend throughout the team.

Agree. That's the best he's played for us. If he keeps playing like that, he could and should be an England regular.

Difficult to disagree. He doesn't quite have the determination of D&D, but he's much, much quicker than that pair, his ball carrying also differentiates him from both, and his passing is far better than Duffy.

I’d agree with this. When you’re trying to set up a tournament team where your priority is not to concede, a ball playing centre back isn’t high on your list.

Ian Wright (ex Palace and Arsenal, Brighton reject) reckoned Webster had his easiest game of the season cos Chelsea were shit, so of course he looked good.

Just like Dunk, he won’t get a look in while that muppet in a waistcoat is manager. But at least G.S. can consistently secure easy groups, and loose to any and every decent team while clapping and being woke.
