I’ve followed Brighton for over 30 years but have lived in Liverpool since 1988, I have raised my son to support Brighton, he’s been going to away games in the NW since he was 6 and is now 14. We’ve probably bought him about six kits and he recently went to his first home game against Getafe when we were visiting Sussex. I know we probably don’t exist as far as these decision go, but I’m seriously frustrated that we haven’t taken our full allocation against Liverpool. No doubt I’ll borrow someone’s season ticket again and go in the Kop, yes some clubs are less bothered about that sort of thing, but maybe next season can we actually take the full allocation so all the forgotten exiles can go to a few more games please. BARBER OUT.

Have you written to the club to complain. If enough people do, who knows, they might not make the same mistake again.

I may well write, I can’t be the only one who is frustrated, although I’m not an Albion+ member so they’ll probably just ignore me. I used to get tickets off my brother in law when he was the kit sponsor but those days are long gone. UTA.

Might have been a stretch hoping tickets for Liverpool would have gone beyond Albion +. Out of interest has that ever happened ?

It is very annoying. I am an Albion+ member, but there's no value in it if the away sales don't even reach that point. As it happens I managed to grab one of the restricted view seats today, so I'll have a great view of some concrete and some player's shins, but if somebody's paid to be a member that shouldn't be all they're left with when there's the option to have taken more seats in the first place.

I'm not asking for the full allocation to be taken all the time even when there's no chance it'll sell out, but there must be a better way for the club to gauge interest.

I think Huddersfield, Burnley and FA Cup semi final are the only times we’ve bought through the club since we’ve been in the Prem. after that we rely on a network of local STHs, we’ve also been to Everton, Liverpool and City. We used to go to about 5-6 games a season, now it’s about 2 if we’re lucky.

If everyone that is unhappy writes then it might make a difference. If people just use NSC to vent their feelings then unlikely anything will change.

Regarding Albion + membership, am I right in thinking it isn't just to get a slightly higher priority for away games?

We haven’t just not taken the full allocation, we’ve only taken 3 out of 5 blocks. Pretty sure we would’ve sold out another block. Pretty small time thinking by the club really, but they’ve done this at Liverpool before. I think the Norwich ticket situation is even more baffling. Who do the club think we are? Reading?

Sometimes it would be nice to not be an afterthought and actually have the club appreciate their members and do something for us, without having to complain.

But they don't.

Case in point, last season if a STH didn't get a ticket in the ballot for home games, they got a full refund of their season ticket fee. MyAlbion+ members weren't even entered into the ballots but were offered no refund whatsoever.

I'm still not convinced we were offered more than we were given. Man city only seemed to have 3 blocks in the last game.

Unless something has changed i believe they have to offer us a minimum of 3000 as per the rules . As we only put about 1900 on sale in total the only explanation i can think of is that we did not take our full allocation .As i have stated on norwich ticket thread i believe club are being cautious at the present time because they are mindful of being caught out with unsold tickets with covid fears , travel difficulties etc . Also worth considering that they must be thinking if people with season tickets are not all going to home games why would they go away ? Still agree with others on here that it is harsh for northern my albion + members though .

Liverpool have some ground work going on at the moment so are releasing less tickets for away fans ....in addition they are one of the big boys and can do whatever they want.

Looks like Burnley only got 1900 as well ...

Until we know the facts I wouldn't jump to any conclusions

Edit.... Chelsea got 2887 so perhaps Brighton really didn't take full allocation

That’s right.

The Burnley situation for the season home opener was I think due to steward recruiting issues, something faced by many clubs, even PB talked about it.

The stadium works just now are completely outside the stadium.

That's the general rule but if there are valid reasons why they don't offer the full allocation, eg problems with segregation, then they don't have to. I also think there is a requirement to allow away fans seats at pitch side but again if they home team can give a valid reason why not then they don't have to, for example Newcastle.

Basically Liverpool aren't giving any team that turned them over at Anfield last season their full away fans allocation this season, when asked about this Klopp said yes that's right and, so Ner.

Well I'm sure you don't talk for every northern based Albion + members!!

The away allocation for Norwich was up to 2669. I don't know how many were eventually taken but if not the full amount then I'm guessing that sales didn't go as well as the club might have hoped. On the basis that they have to get seats in blocks of possible 400ish then it's unlikely the club will take that option if it's only going to accommodate a handful of Albion+ members leaving the club with the paying for the rest.

I agree that it is odd that the full allocation for Liverpool wasn't taken so we'll have to see what the club do about Aston Villa.

Norwich sold out to season ticket holders, it sold really well. It wasn’t until it sold out that the club removed the max allocation note on the website because we didn’t take the allocation that it originally said we did do. Reasons unknown for this.

Brighton and Burnley get reduced allocation at Anfield eh? Could just be sour grapes spilling over from last season.

Reasons may be unknown but i think it is pretty fair to guess that we were not sure they would sell as well as they did so took reduced allocation as all available evidence points to this .
The allocation was originally shown on the away tickets page and the information page as 2669 . When it became obvious that it would sell out the 2669 disappeared from the tickets page and on the info page was replaced with " UP TO 2669 " !!
