Just go by the number. You can't click the green thumbs up more than once (because it disappears), but if you didn't really mean to click it, press the red one. Can understand the confusion though!

Edit; Also, you'll only get a grey thumb on your own posts, because you can't "like" them.

Ah, I think you've answered my question. Thank you. I shall now 'like you'.

It's because the only option available to you at that point is to remove your thumbs up (by applying a red thumbs down). It's not particularly clear, I grant you.

Bozza, i cannot view a lot of the attachments especially if the link consists of just numbers, ie no web link as such,i have tried to contact the admins but my e.mail (hotmail) is not recognized so gave up, any help please?

As above - something funny is going on with them at the moment and I'm investigating. It's not just you - it's everyone.

Any chance of removing the post counts again?

Any chance of giving us the thumbs down option again? Ridiculous to only have thumbs up and not down.

After a week of thumbs up/down, let's try just thumbs up.

The logic presumably being that it's better to have a Board where people can give a thumbs up instead of typing "This" in a separate post, but don't have the ability to carry out a vendetta against folk they don't like (by thumbs-downing every post a particular poster makes)? Of course, any vendetta could be carried out by making negative posts; but that requires a lot more time and effort than one mouse click on a button.

Hmmm, ok, but my natural inclination is to allow both or neither - it seems fairer...

Or - is there a different reason for going "Thumbs-up only" for a while?

I was quite flattered when Husty, Tit anic, 1.99 and a few others were stalking my comments and taking the time to thumbs down me the other day. At least you know where you stand with some people.

Bozza, any chance of changing the colours?

At the moment, an un-thumbed post is green. Once it's given a thumb up it turns red.

Wouldn't it make sense for an unthumbed post to be amber? Once it's given a thumb up it turns green.

Yep, you should be able to disagree with a post as well as agree. Both are valid.

But you don't have to agree with a post to like it. How about a well-articulated post with a viewpoint that's different from your own?
