England WIN by five wickets :clap2:

NZ 553 & 284

England 539 & 299-5

Ollie Pope 145, Joe Root 176, Jonny Bairstow 136, Alex Lees 67 & 44, Ben Stokes 46 & 75*, and Jimmy Anderson & Stuart Broad 5 wickets each in the match.

The most boundaries (250) ever in the history of Test Match cricket; the 2nd fastest century for England (77 balls) in the history of Test Match cricket; and the highest ever aggregate runs scored (1675) in a Test Match at Trent Bridge.

A truly historic five days of Test Match cricket.

And no-one felt the need to invade the pitch...

I've seen some marvelous matches over the last 40 years. But the Stokes/Bairstow stand was probably the most brutal.

For me, better than Headingley 2019 as a spectacle, that was Stokes swinging or bust, this was controlled, measured demolition

Good question. After some research, here's one.

4th Test, Leeds, 1948.

England scored 861 (497 and 365/8d), but Australia chased it down with 458 and 404/3.

Don Bradman scored 173* in the 2nd innings.

Good spot, but you may need to quickly edit our second innings score.

What a performance.

We've been gash for so long. Incredible how sometimes you just need to change direction. It's like a new manager bounce.

Stunning. Well done England. Long live test cricket

Well that ended well

Left work with Bairstow on 98 and got home to see the last few overs.

£5 @ 5/1 pays for a flutter on the football and a few beers

Reckon Stokes will be rested for the next Test - Root back as interim Skipper?

Give it Broady for a test, the people’s champion
