On Chairman Mike Bamber's wall in the 1970s and 1980s, as Albion shot up two divisions, was the motto, 'They can, because they think they can'.

Perhaps the phrase, written by Virgil, a Roman poet, could be amended to 'We can, because we think we can' to increase its impact.

Sorry good people....I understand the meaning of 'Stand or Fall'....but it would look like 'Elf and Safety gone mad without' For Sussex by the Sea' underneath...on it's own it looks like the obvious...Stand or you will fall and as Goldstone Rapper says...you can bet your life there will be photoshopped versions on some club sites.....Without mentioning SE25......but each to their own....marjority wins.

Don't agree. In this instance, to "fall" means to die. It's saying I'm willing to do what it takes for Sussex, live or die.

In the heat of battle, wouldn't it be better to get the opposition to have recurring thoughts of dying and have them contemplate their own mortality, rather than us?

Our focus should be fixed firmly on victory.
