If he's happy I'm happy! I do think it's a bit strange that he's been here for five years without ever having gone out for a significant loan though.
GK's struggle for game time so finding a club that will play one of our superstars is a big task.

Steele & Verbruggen will be 1 & 2. The third choice will be whoever is left of the over 21's or an U21 who we couldn't find a loan club for

McGill is #3

Walton, Sanchez, Rushworth and Beadle had no trouble getting game time.
Indeed, game time away on loan at lower division clubs. We won't find 4 clubs in a season that are willing to offer our GK's regular game time. We have a task to find the right loan deal for each

Naylor, in the Athletic today about Alzate : "He’s likely to seek a permanent move, however, if it becomes apparent that he’s not going to feature in the Italian’s plans."

Looks to me like the US tour matches will be pivotal and he may or may not then be off before deadline day. We'll see what happens.

Sounds like a bit of a Naylor guess. Any player would want a move if they dont feature in the manager's plans.

Thanks for the regular updates. Two questions about the number 10.

Should the NEW NUMBER 10 not be an attacker rather than a midfielder?

Do we really need a new 10? If we continue to play 4-2-3-1 then we already have 10 or more players able to play in the front 4 positions.

With those returning from injury and loans, plus new signings - it's almost a whole squad more than we finished the season with. I'm not sure we'll be signing many more, but a couple of defenders would be handy.

I think this is just an acknowledgement that we're in for a player like Kudus.
Agreed we're well stocked there but my hunch is we don't know - for certain - the future of Koslowski, Moder, Alzate, Ayari or Caicedo in those positions - all could potentially be leaving/loaned. So a signing might be necessary alongside Gilmour, Gross, Milner, Dahoud and Lallana who i'm certain will be featuring next year but they are all v.different players. Replacing that McAllister/Caicedo pivot will be hard although there's a got to be long shot that Caicedo stays. Moran is being lined up for a loan i believe. I expect likewise for Jack Hinshelwood

RE: Kudus

He also provides top level backup for March at RW. I thought that we were hit hard by March’s injury at the end of last season, he was so brilliant for us when fit.
