[Albion] Squad for 23/24 - Summer 2023 Window

Ok. So here's the squad for 23/24 so far. Presumably Dahoud and Milner to be added once window officially opens. Guess the retain list will be announced this week, and then the business really starts with a blizzard of ins/outs / loans and buys. Expect a Veltman contract anno imminent too i suspect.

PS: Shout if any errors/omissions.

Summer Window opens on June 14th and closes at 11pm on Friday Sept 1st.

All in our squad looks pretty big, clearly room for a clear out with Connoly, Zequiri, Khadra and Karbownick being obvious departures.

Squad always looks big at this point ! , Veltman - RDZ pretty much confirmed a new contract was in the offing last week in a press conference. Those players almost certainly will go out on loan again but i'm sure 1-2 of the loan army might impress pre season and RDZ might want em in the squad.

He's 'hidden' as number 5 in the list. Don't worry – it got me too because I couldn't see Ali Mac, Gilmour or Caicedo. All a bit confusing...

Yep. Should be in there . I've not put him in the main squad for now cos i think he and a number of other loanees are out of contract so waiting to here if he's in on the retain list.

No. And he can't sign because the window is not open for a couple of weeks anyway but reporting is very solid indeed for both Dahoud and Milner. So its just a matter of time.

But RDZ didn’t use most of them even with our busy schedule. So need a clear out and a small increase of quality with what we had

A clear out of any dead wood, yes. Actual reduction in squad size, no. We need to bring in better players to replace those shipped out.

Yep. Squad seemed thin towards the end but that was partly due to injuries (Lallana, Lamptey, Moder, March, Sarmiento, Veltman, Ferguson, Webster) , some players were carrying long term knocks (Dunk), as well as depth (ran out of senior full backs!, no Mitoma alternative). All those teenagers making their brief debuts in last 10 days was just good management. Why not give em a few minutes to help with their development ( Offiah, Peupion, Hinshelwood).
