We've got to be honest, the SPL is miles from the EPL.

Undav looked the real deal in Belgium, and again in Germany. He hardly pulled up any trees in the Premier League. It really is another level. That's what makes it so impressive that Enciso, Adingra, Ferguson etc have slotted in so seamlessly.

Undav was barely given a chance, was only given 6 starts in the premier league - and he scored 4 goals in those 6 matches. He might have been good enough with more opportunity

This. How many times have we seen players flop after outstanding careers in the SPL? The standard is so low (comparatively).

Heres a decent XI of players who moved from the SPL to EPL

Fraser Forster
Nathan Patterson, David Weir, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson
Stiliyan Petrov, Victor Wanyama, John McGinn
Paolo di Canio, Mark Viduka, Steven Fletcher

Not a bad team that.

You had to go back a few decades to cobble together a team that would struggle to avoid relegation. Hardly helps the case.

We loan out players to weaker leagues, whether in this country or abroad. It's totally normal.

At some point we'll need to bring him in and get him in the squad to see if he can make it.

Has Morales lit any fires since leaving Rangers ?
Probably, but not on the pitch. For Santos, since joining in September, no starts, three substitute appearances, 2 yellow cards and 0 goals. He missed 9 games due to injury.

This is massively harsh on Undav.

There aren't actually all that many players who have made the move from SPL to EPL.

Still, the point about having to go back a few decades is a fair one, you spoil it by saying they would struggle to avoid relegation as every single one of those players was playing top half football during their time in the prem, maybe with exception of Fletcher, can't recall how his Sunderland side did.

A Scottish colleague of mine is a Rangers fan. He like Sima and says he works well in their system.

His view is that he is if he came back to us, he would be best used as a winger cutting inside. He doesn't think Sima would suit the way we play in the strikers role as his movement, hold up and approach play are not good enough at the moment.

He would say that wouldn't he, if they're keen to keep him :)

Undav was scoring goals for fun at the end of last season. I would say he is the most lethal finisher excluding penalties we have

Watching Sima for Rangers today, either he is injured or he's not very good? He's just jogging around doing nothin, looks like Emile Heskey on antidepressants.

But Undav performed well in the end IMO.

The Rangers fan I know would agree. Said all along that his touch was nowhere near PL standard. They didn’t rate him at all early on and have been pretty surprised at his success.
