This is hardly a revelation: many of us have been aware of it for a long time. It follows on, therefore, that Crystal Palace Football Club have also been aware for at least as long.

I can't help feeling it's a pretty poor show by them not to have put a stop to it all two and a half years ago. A simple apology on their behalf to the Albion would have sufficed: after all, it's not their fault that the coach driver was in a state. But to to be aware that one of their employees had left the place in a filthy mess, and moreover to have quietly sat back and hidden the truth whilst a media shitstorm- no pun intended- developed around it, thanks to another member of their staff, is a contemptible performance. If nothing else, the whole affair had the Albion launching an internal investigation in which- presumably- their own staff were under suspicion for a time.

The Albion are actually the only ones who come out of this with any dignity- off the pitch at any rate- as they chose to maintain a discreet silence, when it must have been tempting to put the truth out there. Whereas our opponents that day have, one can only assume, gone as far as telling their own players to keep the story quiet. And so they have done, until Paddy McCarthy has a couple of beers a long way down the line. Great work, Steve Parish & friends. You're a classy bunch.

Beautifully put

Disgusting if true. Could just be McCarthy on a wind up.

Still, all turned out (pardon the pun) well in the end (another possible pun).
Well for us anyway.
Marvellous.
:lolol:

And on that note, I'll log out now....oops, there's another pun.

No wind up mate as I was told this straight after the incident from a senior member of security and think the club knew this after an inquiry. They took the decision to remain quite as it did not reflect well on Palace and thought in time it would come up (no pun intended). Nice to
Know we are a club that have the respect not to tell the whole story that make Parish, Holloway look like a bit silly in my view. The only action now is for Palace to be demoted from the premiership and banned from football for 10 years, and that drummer shot, or
Maybe failing that solution, an apology ? But that only comes from clubs who has the culture of class and respect. I will not hold my breathe.

I'd wager there were a few holding their breath that night.
And come on now...don't get all holier than thou. You lot will cling on (see what I did there?) to any crumb of comfort that will ease the pain of getting hammered in your own back yard.

You know what your right, however the coach driver that is the centre of attention here really is a filthy animal who probably shits his own bed and thinks it's funny. Bloke's probably a retard with a PSV licence anyway so I shouldn't be surprised.

I've come back home.
As has been said, many of us knew this the week after it happen.

Didn't Gus reference it in his ranty shout stampy stamp email that got leaked? Will he apologise to the club and it's employees?

Just one thing that bugs me. Is it normal procedure to have the team coach drop the the kit off the day before a game the following evening? Doesn't seem right to me.

After the way he walked away from the club and it's employees with nary a glance over his shoulder I'm fairly sure an apology is the last thing on his mind.

I was told this by a Brighton Employee about a week after the event, I even discussed it over PM with a few on here, a Palace mate of mine also regaled me the exact same story (He claims to be ITK, I'm beginning to believe him).

The investigation into the poopertrator centred around the security procedures at The Amex where nobody can enter the away dressing rooms without using a swipe card that would have identified who it was, there was no record of anyone having done so.

Disgraceful.

So not only did we get the blame, but the guy did not inform anyone at Brighton what had happened, assuming that the cleaners would find it and sort it out. However, our club clearly wanting everything to be above board, did not send anyone in there after the scumbags kit had been delivered, which I am sure is standard practice.

A public apology from that twit Parish is the least that should be warranted.

Our club has acted with the decorum and class that we would expect. Well done them. Not something that can be said about that other lot.

This sounds like bolox to me.

1, The coach drivers stay on the bus until all other staff are off, they then park the bus where the police advice.
2 Why would a coach driver go into the away dressing room.
3 The kit men are usually in the dressing rooms a good while before the teams putting kit out, this is also helped be members of the ground staff of the home team.
4, I cant see a coach driver entering the dressing room area without being asked who and why, and if he needed the loo in a rush there are many toilets closer than that...it just does not stack up!!

Well I did the sad Stadium tour last year and asked the question about the infamous pebble dash incident and the tour guide explained that in fact it was a Sky engineer who did the dirty deed, He tried his best to clear it up but failed!!
So who do we believe??

Not being funny, but if this happened on Sunday night why wasn't it cleaned up on the Monday before the players arrived? No toilet cleaners at the Amex?

Blame Barber and FFP !

Some of the tour guides make it up as they go along. When we got to the trophy room, I asked where the 2004 play off trophy was (it's still missing). The guide answered that Tim Carder had it in storage for when the museum opened. I replied that I knew Tim, & that wasn't true.
He changed the subject rapidly.

Yes he did. An email which was written on a club pc and seen by one senior club employee before it was sent.

He was clearly naive to believe what he had been told by the palace coaching team

By the way the 'coach divert plot' was the hideous crime of someone suggesting on approaching Falmer from Brighton the q over the a27 was really bad, like normal
Big games, so they went up the a27 to Lewes and back the other way, like a lot of cars do. If they had arrived at a better time they could avoided it. Think this coach driver has a lot to answer to. The right thing for Palace to do is to apologise, as people lost their jobs over this, do you think they will ?

I think the coach divert has some substance to it. The coach was sentence wrong way round the stadium therefore parking a short distance and the use of steps between the coach and players entrance. Palace refused to get off, use the steps and make their way through early arriving albion fans. So they backed the coach up which tool a while.

I am told that this sort of trick has been used by a couple of other clubs including spurs in the past
