But 20 years on will the BBC do loads of features on the play-off game like they did when one Man Utd player drop-kicked a racist Palace fan?

That's how the world remembers your club.

Funny enough it's not, see all the credit our fans have got in the last 18 months.

You've been sh@t for 30 years, long before you left that hole of a ground and started the long haul back to mediocrity and being spastic happy to get Arsenal in the cup. Tinpot.

Uh-uh. Not true. All the articles about Cantona are about the racist abuse footballers were getting and how the Cantona attack was a watershed in football.

No-one has interviewed Simmonds as far as I'm aware recently. To the outside world he's a Palace fan and that IS how the world remembers the incident.

Albion apologised in private and in public. The private apology was made out of common decency and courtesy, when it was thought that someone connected with the Albion had been grossly disrespectful towards Crystal Palace. The public apology was made so that the wider world could see that Albion were accepting responsibility.

Now that it is widely known, thanks to the loose tongue of your club captain, that someone connected with Palace left the excrement in the Palace changing-room, and that Palace have long known the truth of the matter, Palace should apologise to Albion.

If Palace have apologised to Albion privately then good. Palace should also apologise publically, as Albion had to, in order to be seen to be accepting responsibility for what happened.

Albion had to humble themselves by showing due contrition. Let's see if Palace are able to do likewise.

We all know that Parish is never likely to do the right thing. He is a fecking bellend. As are the majority of Palace tossers commenting in this thread.

What a classless bunch of fu*kwits they are proving themselves to be.

When the football world was led to believe it was somebody from The Albion who was responsible they took great delight in revelling in what happened. Now the truth is out they say we should forget the incident and move on with a fair amount of gloating thrown in for good measure.

Classless, shitty club on all levels.

All the TV pundits creaming themselves over the atmosphere but failing to realise the pitchside microphones strategically placed near the Always Ultras but absent near the away fans ?

Only people like you Dougie . Believe you are well liked in the football world , one of the founder members of the premier league and if any justice would have gone to the wall and would not be back there now. Jock the coach driver had unstable bowels and was a very poor cleaner who's only claim to fame is a unparalleled mess in a changing room. The only disappointing thing about it is my club do not have the dignity to hold their hands up and apologise for what happened that night and let the media have a field day in attacking BHA'S good name.

Most clubs out of the 92 are rubbish, ours and yours included. Brighton aren't particularly special for being rubbish. No-one remembers or cares anymore than they do about Bristol Rovers or Carlisle or Leicester. People DO remember Palace as the club with the racist fan who got drop-kicked though. And what with Man U bring worldwide that's one way in whicj people do remember your club.

Even now 20 years on its massive news. Your club. Your racist fan.

Does it sound good on the tv soggy ?

If you really believe that Cantonas only claim to fame was kicking one of your racist fans, then you are quite clearly a touch dim.

"all in the past"...."only claim to fame"...

Haha! It's been all over the sports media this very week!
A quiet media week means any old tat gets published . Funny thing is the outrage over poogate hasn't registered .

You pick.up on that one being offensive rather than one from your fellow fan who uses the word 'spastic'?

Funny how these Palace fans are so myopic.

And there lies the problem.

One of them does something, defend at all costs.
One of ours, OUTRAGE.

Quiet media week? It's one of the big Cup weeks of the year and we're in the middle of the transfer window yet your racist fan 20 years ago still gets top billing.
