Jeff Minton as Yves Bissouma (yes I know he's left)

Jeff Minton! Yes he was OUTSTANDING for us, but the reason he looked so good was that he was playing in a really really really REALLY shit team. Ultimately though as a footballer he was very limited: he wasn't even good enough for Port Vale in the Championship, let alone in the PL. (I did like him though).

Imagine if our striker cover consisted of Wardy, Bobby & Leo.

We wouldn't be fretting over Welbeck getting crocked again or needing a rest.

Not much love for pre-Amex Glenn Murray on here. I thought he'd be a shoo-in...

Zamora without a doubt. Vicente i think but other than that not so sure. The team of 79 wouldn't hack the Premier league as it is today because the pace and world class players that grace it. Perhaps Johnny Byrne?

I don't find the pace of the modern game that fast

Hardly ever see an end to end game

With all the rolling around from sniper shots, they have more breaks than a five setter at Wimbledon

In the past 30 years

Ben Roberts for Steele
Bruno for Lamptey
Bridge for Estupian
Upson for Van Hecke
Vicente for Sarmiento
Zamora for Undav
Gotsmanov for Ferguson

Never saw Lawrenson for Brighton, but based on Liverpool career an absolute must. Jimmy Case, Danny Wilson & Dean Saunders also contenders.

John Gregory as cover in midfield and could also put in a shift as a full back.

As others have mentioned. Dean Saunders would be worth a look in the Undav type role.

Not sure pre-Amex Murray would have been anywhere near in our squad considering he was a L1 player...

Amex-era Murray would have played the Welbeck role perfectly though

A fully fit Wayne Bridge would be an excellent squad member and could even force his way into the team as a starter. Genuine quality

I don't know about a lot of the gentlemen mentioned in this thread, but peak Wayne Bridge is a starter for Brighton every day.
