You wonder just how much extra cash Pulis was asking for, and now that the appointment has been made whether Parish is happy with the way things have turned out.

As for Pulis - a typically British manager - you wonder where his next job will be. I can't see him getting the opportunity to take a sleeping giant like a Villa or Newcastle to the next level because neither club has the budget to break into the Top 7. Maybe he sees himself as a specialist "avoiding the Prem drop" manager - he'll sit tight until the Autumn axe is wielded somewhere and then demand even bigger bucks than he got at Palace to bail that team out.

Pretty much what I have always thought of Colin. Not massively impressed with the appointment but lets see how it goes..

I'm reluctant to laugh too much, as like I said earlier, you always, always seem to get lucky with these things. So I'll just giggle for now at the Palace fans on Twitter having an absolute meltdown (yes, we all have them), and keep my fingers crossed that it goes horribly wrong. You wouldn't expect me to say anything else, would you?

Brighton fan pretending he is Palace

You'd like to think so, wouldn't you? But the great big CPFC tattoo on his arm suggests otherwise.

Its amazing to me that Neil Warnock is a premier league manager again. I thought he'd retired and was happily feeding the ducks in the West country. Fair play to palace, no ageism at that club.

:clap2:

I am happy with Warnock, many others are not but so be it. Who else could we have got who would have suited us better and did not want to spend multi millions on players and their wages.
Perfect manager to have for a battle, I personally feel we will stay up as there are worse teams than us.

Nope all good, Glad to see we still bring a smile to your face. Even when (as per normal) we are in the division above.

I would rather have our recent history than yours, thanks, Premier League or no.

Parish being interviewed on SSN. Sounds quite stressed. I don't know that I've heard him talk before, might be normal. But did notice a question about Warnock not being first, second or even third choice, and his response was "I don't get that, it doesn't matter what order you see them in". As if "order you interview people" and "which person you would most like to give the job to" were interchangeable.

Listening a bit more, it might be that he is walking up a flight of stairs, or walking fast down the road trying to avoid being stopped by a chasing pack of people.
