Famous people met? Less than some, more than others:shrug:

Been drinking with Merv Hughes, the Aussie legend, now that really was an experience!

woody isnt it you who knows alesha dixon ? who i've also had the pleasure of meeting, comes across as a really nice person ..................... i'd also crawl across 20 miles of broken glass on my hands and knees just to wank over her shadow!

Yes sir,

the wifes mother and step farther have connections, and they arranged it for us as they know I adore Mr Johnny Cash who is and has been my hero since the age of about 7 when we were over visting her family. I met Eminem and Neil Diamnond through them aswell, but was less impressed with them, they were ok. The wifes best friend is married to philip anselmo who is best mates with Hank 111 so that was one road trip that was intresting. But Johnny was a humble, honest, engaging, gentleman R.I.P.

f*** me. You win. People list Johnny Cash in those fantasy dinner guest things... you've done it for real.

Speechless

I have met a handful or more of famous people. However, that does mean anything to me.

However, on interesting conversation I had was by dint of ringing up Radio Sussex and spoke to Johnny Byrne on the radio show (Withdean days). I asked him a simple question "is it possible to play to play on the wrong wing, a left winger to play on the right and vice versa". The reply came back "that Jackie Charlton had played him on the left for Ireland". That left me sufficiently speechless. I did not know that.

Sat in Billy Idol’s living room, on his sofa, looking out over Hollywood Hills through his patio doors.
To top that he then played a tape & started to PoGo in front of us whilst singing his new recording (pre-release).
That was surreal.

I am friends with Ricky Gervais and have been since 1993 (way before he was famous) I first met him at a Entertainments conference in Reading when I went to University of East London.

Sticking to the criteria of the single most famous and assuming it mean the ones you knew best...

would have to be the Mcartneys

helps that I went to school with Mary (two years below me) and Heather

I was the stage hand at 13 for the school play. Sat in the front row and had to climb up in the darkness and change props on the apron. Paul was sitting next to me and when I returned from one foray after making countless bumps and crashes he leaned across and said (add libbing as I cant remember the exact words 'Dont worry. It happens to the best of us'). First of many meetings.

Linda was lovely if a bit strange and is sorely missed.

Met Gus a few years ago when he was a Chelsea player and out through injury. His English wasnt quite as good then, when I asked him when he would next be fit he replied "About 1 month and 1 half of a month".

Surely he must have said 'one harrrrr of a month'...?!

Strange to have this thread randomly bumped after a 9 month gap, how do people find these archived discussions?
