Given he’s so far played less than 20 minutes this season it would be quite a feat.

That’s part of the problem.

The other part is that he’s a one-paced (slow) striker not dissimilar to what we already have.

The other part is that we can have a zillion strikers but Hughton seems to only want to play one at a time.

Love the guy but not sure he is the answer to our problem.

If we weren’t providing the ammo for Murray, we won’t for Ulloa.

Hopefully Locadia and at least one other creative/pacey signing, changes the strerile football, to a team that does create chances.

We do create chances. Don’t necessarily take em. See Knockaert, Propper and Hemed in last few games.

The answer to our problem is the chap we paid £16m for and sits on the bench most games. Don't really get that decision at all.

What don't you get? Should CH play him just because he cost £Xm? Or play him on merit of what he is giving and delivering? He had his chance home to Bournemouth, took it and looked amazing, then starting the next 2 looked absolutely dreadful. CH will pick whoever he thinks is his best starting XI. Won't matter if its an U23, or our record singing.

I'd love Izquierdo to be starting every game if he performs like he did against Bournemouth, but he simply isn't showing that consistency. May take a while for him to settle, he may well deliver in the run in and into next season, but for now, you cannot play him just because of what we paid.

It’s not just what he would add as an attacking option. You also need to consider the extra help he can give us defending set pieces which of course is not something we have been great at this year.

Because he’s better than March, has more pace, is more direct and per minute played is clearly better at assists/goals/chances created.

Then let him attack and not play as a second left back. Hughton's tactics are the issue

I'm not saying Izqueirdo shouldn't play, I'm saying he should only play if CH feels he is the best option, not because he cost however much. Did you think he looked effective home to Palace in the cup and away at West Brom? Right now it's Schelotto +1. Probably is Izquierdo, but that is more down to the poor form Knockeart and March have been in.

Brighton, Hudd and Swansea create even fewer chances than Boro and Sunderland last season.

Not just stats, on the eye, we all know we’ve played very conservatively and lack pace/threats.

Locadia etc to change all that?
