It’s not for us is it, know what I mean?

But maybe that’s the problem. Fans of all ages will be watching England and roaring them on. It shouldn’t be a song just for the kids. I’m a music snob to a degree, but even I recognise these football songs are meant to be pretty universal, good for crowds to sing, and to catch a moment.

If the FA couldn’t find anything better they may as well have got new artists to cover “Three Lions”.

Already tried that, it failed miserably.

Hugo Rune, are you saying it is alright for black artists to use the word 'nigga' in their songs? We are talking about England here, and in England nigga is regarded by the vast majority of the population as a racist word.

The bottom line is it is completely untenable for Southgate and his men to be taking the knee against racism whilst at the same time endorsing this rap duo who have a decade-long-history of using racist (and sexist) language in their lyrics.

This is a spectacular own goal by the FA, and it reeks of hypocrisy. Although I disagree with what happened at The Riverside those that booed the taking of the knee now have some moral justification for doing so.

I don't agree. The term 'poof' and 'queer' has, in a sense, been reclaimed by the LGBT community. This term is similar.

It's about context and intent. There is no black and white. If you pardon the pun. The words have different contexts within different cultures- and there is no singular culture in this context. Just plural monocultures.

Never heard of them? Their biggest hit is 'Freak Of The Week'. Some of the lyrics include:

She is the freak of the week, now everybody
See, she is the freak of the week
(Mustard on the beat hoe)
Last night I had two bitches
Vegas where it's always getting real
Something sexy 'bout them pretty keep it hood bitches

She can't believe that I asked that
Came with that nigga? No, no
You should be my bitch
See, she is the freak of the week

Here's none other than Eniola Aluko on them getting the official song gig: “A reflection of where we are now in terms of the multicultural, diverse feeling within England … full representation,” Aluko says, highlighting that Krept and Konan are the ones making the song. “Once upon a time that would not have happened,” she claps.

So we have the FA endorsing a music act who use use sexist lyrics and unacceptable racist language, while at the same time the ECB have hung Ollie Robinson out to dry over some pissed-up teenage nonsense from 8-9 years ago.

I'm sorry but this is all f*cked up.

If that had been sent in a tweet 10 years ago, they'd never be allowed to play cricket again.

I've come up with a compromise that hopefully will keep everybody happy:

It's coming home
It's coming home
It's coming
Football's coming home

Big batty girl, come whine on it
Big titty girl, where your arse at?
She can't believe that I asked that
Came with that ******? No, no
You should be my bitch
See, she is the freak of the week

Three Lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

Football's coming home, big titty girl

The lyrics are sexist, I don’t like them. However, the term ‘nigga’ has been reclaimed by the black community, just like ‘queer’ has by the LGBTQ+ community. I imagine you have no comprehension of why black people can say ‘nigga’ and white people can’t so I’ll leave that there but the sexist lyrics are vile and you are right to point that out. I would imagine that the artists would say they were ‘singing in character’ though rather than attribute that sort of language to their usual lexicon, still, it’s incredibly disrespectful to refer to women in the way they are in your quoted lyrics.

Hmm, you understand the rules better than most people; maybe you should let Marcus Rashford know your interpretation it may resolve some of the tension pre-Sunday.

Where do you stand if Krept and Koran sang about monkey emojis? Are these reclaimed yet or still in the waiting room pending collection by the black community?

Every once in a while a post on NSC makes me uncontrollably laugh. I am having to stifle my giggles while my wife and baby daughter sleep next to me. Tears streaming down my cheeks. Bravo sir! :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

When does the official song drop? Just sen a preview of their show tonight on YouTube, sad that they've never felt pride in waving an English flag before. Let's hope this song better represents them and us as ablation than the lijes of Three Lions and World in motion have in the past and we can look back on this song with more pride than those in 20/30 years time.

A remix of Kano - This is England would have been a better choice and surely easy enough to come up with.

Will wait to hear the track before complaining though.
