I've been resisting for years as it destroys mankind.

But if you can't beat it... join it. Plus I had to get one for work purposes.

Are there any super-duper-cool apps that I should check out?

Work purposes? Hopefully enough to keep you otherwise occupied for long periods of time. The work that is not the mobile phone.

Already used the web version.

But I want the really cool, maybe not-so-social stuff... like... I dunno. What do people use these things for? All of it just seems incredibly clunky.
To be honest, I use mine for phoning and txting and watsapping, and checking the BBC web page. I don't even use it for NSC.

I've got an app that lets me use my phone as a borescope.
And another one that does car diagnostics.
But my best app, gives me all the cricket scores.
I'm not going to bother counting them, but I'd guess about half the apps that I have actively downloaded myself, are for paying for car parks.

I have a metal detector app which amazingly actually works. A sound meter app also pretty cool. And of course mini clip pool is a must.

You still use your phone for phoning?

It's 2022, man.
It is indeed 2022 but this is apparently an increasingly trend:

In a world where many of us are glued to our smartphones, Dulcie Cowling is something of an anomaly - she has ditched hers.
The 36-year-old decided at the end of last year that getting rid of her handset would improve her mental health. So, over Christmas she told her family and friends that she was switching to an old Nokia phone that could only make and receive calls and text messages.
She recalls that one of the pivotal moments that led to her decision was a day at the park with her two boys, aged six and three: "I was on my mobile at a playground with the kids and I looked up and every single parent - there was up to 20 - were looking at their phones, just scrolling away," she says.
"I thought 'when did this happen?'. Everyone is missing out on real life. I don't think you get to your death bed and think you should have spent more time on Twitter, or reading articles online."
