Has this been confirmed on any other sites yet?

Probably not, they'll more than likely wait a bit to see if there's more substance before breaking it.

Don't worry Ernest, this thread's a wind up. TB and PB are abroad, so it's not possible for us to get a new manager at the moment.

Now, out of respect for Brighton's new manager, let's all take some lessons on spelling his name.

It's Hyypiä. The ä can be excused, so Hyypia is allowed. But not Hypia, Hyppia, Hippia, Hypiia or anything else. I know it's tough, but with some practice you can do it!

Pronouncing it is slightly difficult even to a Finn, strange structure.

I understand from a journo mate that the Argus will be breaking this news on Tuesday.

They would moan if we signed the best 11 players in the world.Had a 90,000 filled stadium each week and won the premier league and champions league.

Absolutely. Imagine the queues at Falmer station!

So from this can we assume that the details of the deal will be tied up over the weekend?

Isn't this how you spell it?

Hope it's true, a very promising prospect. Could be the next Gus, although hopefully without turning into a giant egoist in a couple of years time.

I'm really pleased. He seems a nice bloke, he's got good contacts and I think he's well respected in the game. Hopefully he'll appoint his own assistant too. Good luck Sami!

To the tune of My Old Man Said Follow The Van

Tony Bloom, sat in his living room
Thinking I need to get a new man in today
He looked through the names, there were loads applied,
But good old Tony made his search long and wide
I’m done with the Spanish, I think I’ll try some Finish
Get me Hyypia on the phone
Sami turned up and the world was shook up
when he said Brighton’s my new home.
