In La Plagne, France the Wz's went for the 'Best snow' in January at 2000M. First run of the morning, we skied down, got a chairlift back up and went straight back to the chalet to put on 2/3 extra layers. The thermostat on my jacket said -23C but I'm guessing that was with windchill.
Despite clear blue skies, nobody sat outside the mountain restaurants the whole week. Bit chilly

I live in the interior, BC, Canada.
The winters here have cold spells for 1-2 weeks with temps of -30 to -40 (before wind-chill).
Ironically, right now we’re seeing unusually warm December temps of +5 which I am very much enjoying.
You had to use the toilet provided for the people that do the hard work on site….that must have been tough

I've spent too much time trying to get twats who make it quite clear they'd rather be watching porn videos on their phone to actually do their job to get misty eyed about them.

Winter Park, Colorado January 2001, on an exposed slow chairlift. -25c with an evil wind from the north. Went and invested in gloves with heated gel inners, definitely made a difference.
Similar temperatures in Rovaniemi Dec 2021, contrary to the belief that continental cold is arid and comfortable, fkn hell it got through to your bones.

Funnily enough Mrs Jakarta blew some (well a lot) on a retirement cruise down to Antarctica a few years back and although our shore trips were cold they were not that cold, minus 10 at most. Presume it was because it was their Summer? Still glad we had all the gear on. An amazing place by the way, you can see why all the wildlife is black and white as that is what everything else is. Oh and Penguin poo is quite distinctive...
That is their summer!
