It also says man should not lie with another man does it not? That it's an abomination.

It also says "“If there is anyone who curses his father or his mother, he shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother, his bloodguiltiness is upon him.” So would support for the killing of children for this "crime" be acceptable?

What if people are against anal sex and find that the disgusting aspect of it all?

Are they homophobes? Even if they apply it to men and women?

Opposing any relationship on the grounds of your personal distaste for their personal sexual proclivities seems rather silly to me, not forgetting many gay men do not like anal sex. So of course it doesn't make them a homophobe it just makes them a complete and utter tool.

I absolutely do not believe that homosexuals / LGBT should ever be discriminated against. As I said earlier, live and let live. Never have I had a problem with it - everyone has a right to live their lives exactly as they want if it does not harm anyone else.

I don't feel compelled to publically don rainbow colours to advertise it though. If my employers arbitrarily announced one day that I was now obliged to openly show support for LGBT, then there would be a conversation to be had.

If you worked in MacDonalds, and they decided to change the Uniform for one week to include a few colours extra, in support of destigmatising homosexuality, you would want to have a conversation with your employer about it? As far as I am aware, these players didn't have to say or do anything other than their normal job, just do it in a slightly altered uniform and maybe have a picture taken. They didn't want to because they did not want to be associated with the message that it is ok to be gay, it isn't a fashion choice. I don't think that is a crime, but it doesn't send the message of live and let live.

The point is that a big corporate machine like McDonalds likely wouldn't do this as in general they talk diversity AND inclusion.

Of course I have an issue with response of the players but I have more of an issue with the club. By not being inclusive it has alienated its employees, made them feel uncomfortable and outed them.

By being inclusive they can also challenge and educate before committing to a cause.
This sort of thing is entirely avoidable

Here are some other lines in the bible. Do explain to us which of these lines those homophobes should also choose to treat as an undeniable truth, and which they should choose to ignore as the weird moral teachings from a different world of over 2000 years ago:

"Permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent."

"Those born of an illicit union shall not be admitted to the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of their descendants shall be admitted to the assembly of the Lord."

"If men get into a fight with one another, and the wife of one intervenes to rescue her husband from the grip of his opponent by reaching out and seizing his genitals, you shall cut off her hand; show no pity"

"If a man meets a virgin who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are caught in the act, the man who lay with her shall give fifty shekels of silver to the young woman’s father, and she shall become his wife. Because he violated her he shall not be permitted to divorce her as long as he lives"

"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you obey Christ.."

"As for anyone who presumes to disobey the priest appointed to minister there to the Lord your God, or the judge, that person shall die. So you shall purge the evil from Israel."

"A man or a woman who is a medium or a wizard shall be put to death; they shall be stoned to death, their blood is upon them."

"If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death."
"But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

Or any of the numerous lines that justified apartheid/segregation

I'd just never seen the word 'Manly' in the name of a team before

It's the name of a suburb in Sydney. And yes, the name is actually derived from the usage of the word in normal language:

From: https://dictionaryofsydney.org/entry/manly

"The first official dispatch in 1788 from Arthur Phillip, governor of the newly founded imperial outpost in New South Wales, noted the 'confidence and manly behaviour' of the Aboriginal people encountered on the northern side of the entrance to Sydney Harbour. Thus Manly derived its name."

There is a small rainbow on the shirt along with a large advertisment for a gambling company.

One is a permanent fixture on the shirt and is advertising an industry that sucks untold amounts of money from people's pockets and in some cases causes irreparable damage to families and communities.

The other is a symbol of love between some people.

And these fellas have the problem with the rainbow?

Something is wrong in the world.

they are rugby league players mate ....do you actually know any ...??

There is a difference between a swastika and a rainbow. You may well have been living with eejits for too long

They shouldn't be forced but perhaps they should be educated as to why in the 21st century society there is a still very much a need to make 10% of its population feel supported for the heinous crime of not being heterosexual. It's not entirely like the civil rights marches of the 60s.

supported or promoted..?? i think it's seen by a lot of more backward thinking folk as promotion of a lifestyle they may not necessarily be all that comfortable with and as such it polarises opinions just as the taking the knee winds then racists up ....it's an immensely complex subject but homophobia is definitely no more alive and well in Australia that it is in the UK. You cannot be suggesting that we force unwilling people to promote a lifestyle they are not supportive of .....that is just weird.

it's just an example H ffs , i've been in clubs in sydney where the entertainment was pretty much a 6 man orgy in a blow up paddling pool full of bubbles , nothing shocks me mate , apart from other peoples attitudes , went to huge gay dance parties that pretty much turned into full ons ,i've built dungeons for gays in Sydney , seen shit you wouldn't believe... it just doesn't phase me , which is why when the mainstream gets hold of it as a vehicle and attempts to rub it in my face i get a twitchy , i came to terms with gays in the 90's mate ....all good , i came to terms with jamaicans and africans in the 80's......

What are you talking about? How do you "promote" a sexuality?

You think wearing a rainbow shirt is saying "Abandon your sexuality and turn GAY" rather than "It's OK not to be heterosexual"?

THAT is weird.

I've always wondered what promoting homosexuality would actually look like, I mean how exactly would you market the gay to people? You know instead of just acknowledging that it exists which is what the homophobes seem to think it is.

it could just as easily say "it's great to be gay" couldn't it....it's great to go to cornwall , it's great to eat scones , it's great to ride a bike ....it's promotion...?? i honestly don't have a problem with it but i think people should have a choice , if they don't want to wear it why should they be vilified ..?
