Terry DID deserve it , but being England captain includes being a good role model , Gerrard , Terry and Ferdinand don't deserve it , i would like to see Frank Lampard or Gareth Barry maybe even Rooney .

If we are going by recent form, i dont think Gerrard even deserves to make the starting 11, let alone be captain! I would stick with Terry on this one

Terry -complete and utter tosser but along with Rooney probably the only player absolutely guaranteed to start
Gerrard - only turns up to play for England when it suits him and his club and a bad example given his thuggish tendancies
Rooney - is paying for prostitutes and being addicted to gambling a good example to our youth
Cole - out and out thug and serial shagger
Lampard - a piss artist and total prat

No-one else is guaranteed a place

Given these wonderful choices my suggestion is to leave well alone
