You can "presume" but unless it is authenticated as being worn by a player or signed, nobody (sane) is ever going to pay EIGHT GRAND for a tracksuit!

If the seller had provenance (coming from a player who played in the match or their family by way of example) then it increases in value but not 8K. NEVER 8K!!
Nobodies churning out snide 1983 Brighton tracksuits are they ? So presume it’s the real thing.

Seller does seem to have a bit of ebay history as seller of iconic european tops, normally in the £80-£100 range. Maybe genuine shirt(s), maybe not. Either way, if a prospective buyer were to offer, say, £80, they might well end up with a good-looking trackie top of unknown provenance

Yeah it’s odd how all the other stuff he is selling is reasonably priced but this is in the thousands (although he knows he won’t get that). He’s also from Brighton so may have a connection to club from those days 🕵🏼

I believe this guy has been listing and realising this tracksuit on eBay for a couple of years now. I centtainly first saw it during lockdown when it was pointed out to me.

What's your conclusion Phil?
It's almost ceertainly legit, but it's not collectible in the same was as a shirt is. Be fine in the club museum, but unless it was given to me I wouldn't be interested in it for any more than a oner.

Yeah you’re probably right. I just get a bit misty eyed about the cup final 😔

Can I ask everyone.......If it was advertised for £100 would you buy it..... A resounding NO from me.

Most definitely. I'd part with upto £250 of my hard earned for that - fear that's well under the market value though. I used to have a couple of Adidas First trackies procured from David Rose (folks would never stretch to a Tacchini despite my constant bugging...for good reason I suppose) - love 'em. Adidas need to do a re-release

I would, but the 'seller' wants a lot more.

‘David Rose’, there’s a name I haven’t heard for a long time 😎

Nope. Of course not. I am sure it's the real thing.

The point I was trying to make is whether it was one worn by one of the matchday squad, one of the coaching staff, one that was surplus to requirements etc as this determines how valuable it is. By way of example, a Michael Jordan signed game worn vest is far more desirable and therefore significantly more valuable than one bought from a store that he signed.

But tbh, whetherthe tracksuit was worn by a player or sat in a box in a cupboard surely no-one in possession of all their faculties is going to spunk £8K on it.
