I think paynter is improving, which after more than a year without regular 1st team football has to be part of the reason for him being here I'd have thought.

Haven't been a fan of Harley so far, but have to say today I thought in bursts he found a bit of pace and looked much more confident, best game so far by quite some way IMO.

Paynter brings us nothing more than Barnes already has to offer, I just don't see he point in having him and paying more wages. Get rid.

The irony was the plastic tesco bag that floated across the pitch just after he was subsitituted was more memorable
That bag drew a couple of Cov players away at one point and might even have managed a chest down to CMS if it had been allowed to stay on the pitch a bit longer, all of which is considerably more than Mr Paynter managed in the 70 odd minutes that he was on the pitch. I expect to see the bag in training with the boys this week, there's real potential there and I like the heritage kit.

I asked the questions on another...has Patyner had a shot on goal since he arrived?? I certainly can't remember one.
All those Leeds fans were certainly right about him.
I thought Hoskins was brought to play with CMS....why is Gus not giving Hoskins the chance to form a partnership with CMS? I know he's coming back from injuries, but the minutes he's played, he played out wide...he certainly is'nt a winger!

We've won the two home games he's started which is an improvement on what was happening before.

What was the score today? I thought we'd won but i must be mistaken given the negativity here.

Both players mentioned above played an active part in achieving that result so lay off them ffs, they are our players and if Gus thinks they are worthy of a first team place then thats more than enough for me and he's someone whose judgement I would believe far more than a few fans on here who seem to have a personal dislike of a player or even people who still like to pass a negative judgement against a player but didn't actually watch the performance today (like Piltdown man i'm guessing with his Harley comment)

How does slagging one or more of OUR players off help us to achieve better results where it matters? Especially after a win? What are you trying to achieve, to depress everyone so that we fail miserably?

Everyone on here shouted me down when I said he was crap....

And you are?? and why should people listen to you, what experience do you have to judge a player before they join??

I think the majority of fans would rather watch and judge a player for themselves than listen to a nobody who comes seems to be an over-opinionated attention seeker, hence why, quite rightly, you were shouted down.

How highly did fans of other clubs rate the other players that have come here before they won the title last season, most dismissed them and our chances because they were unknowns to them or just didn't rate them. Just because other fans don't rate someone doesn't make them shit.

There have been plenty of examples where a player hasn't done well at a club but excelled at another and vice versa for whatever reason. It could be down to the style of play used there or a player forms a partnership straight away and is a big success or maybe because he is given a chance and doesn't have idiot fans dismissing him before he joined or calling for his sacking for a misplaced pass or failed move, putting pressure on him and making him more likely to fail.

Paynter is absolutely gash. Barnes in, please.

It was hilarious reading leeds fans on Paynter. They loathe the guy and im realizing why. They did a collective jig when he left.

Thought Harley was very good today and fans should support him as he is improving game on game
I just don't see that, although I did feel from the moment he went off our midfield stopped contesting for the ball.

To me, he's all flailing arms, and sideways movement.
Is he not supposed to be our dead ball specialist?
He was clean through in the second half, and didn't even get a shot away.

Perhaps I'm only noticing him at the wrong time.

For me BP, did well (better anyway) and today looked more like the link up man he is supposed to be.

No star, but the outplaying of Brighton during the bad run, with the 4-5-1 (and an isolated CMS as the 1) at that time, ended with Paynter's arrival.

CMS no longer the target man (not his strength), freeing him up to cause havoc.

Paynter is a Gus pragmatic-choice loanee, until we get a classy target man (Zamora?).

I think that what we are saying is that BBP simply isn't good enough for this league and we don't want him coming here on a permanent. The Leeds fans were delighted to get rid of him and on the basis of what I have seen so far - and I have seen all of his games - I can see why. Yes, 3 points today and against Barnsley is something to celebrate but if you really think that we won those two games comfortably then you are deluding yourself. Also, if you want to visit a football chat site where all the posts are positive and the decisions the manager makes are never criticised then good luck finding one. We won today and I'm delighted, no yellows or reds is another thing to celebrate but the team is not playing as well as I believe it could - the injuries haven't helped - and the reasons why that is need to be debated. For me, one of those reasons is BBP.

For the time Barnes was on the pitch today he should play ahead of Paynter fo sho!

Definitely this, showed some really good touches, some of the play between Barnes, CMS and Harley was delightful!
As a side note, my friend was talking to Barnes last week and AB was telling him of his frustration at not being in the team, he feels Gus picks 'the foreigners' ahead of the others and himself!

Hope there is more to Paynter than we have seen so far,why did Gus leave it so long before he introduced Lau Lau????????
In the second half we allowed Coventry too much possesion which could easily led to them scoring.

I thought he was brought in to hold the ball, allowing midfield support to arrive. However, he may be a tryer, but makes a mockery of Gus's policy of only bringing in players who can improve the team..maybe he has the best tattoo?

His crapness is only surpassed by Harley who is frankly a complete waste of air. The ground regulations forbid spectators from entering the field of play. How the f**k does Harley get away with it week after week, the least they could do is ban him.

If you genuinely think this i can't believe you watched the same game me and the people round me saw..we had him close to mom and only never got it because he never played the full 90 mins ( imo )
