Sorry, but I don't believe that. I have compared photos I took at the Donny game and last night.
The south goal line looks to be in exactly the same place.
It may have moved slightly, but no more that a few inches.

:lolol: I think the op needs his eyes checked

I was sat in W1A last night and someone had sat in my normal seat but as there was a seat a bit further up rather than make the guy move I sat in what I suspect was his seat.

To be honest I hope he makes the same mistake again as my seat is actually a couple of foot behind the goal line and his seat is bang on the line, much better view, so if the guy is on here you are more than welcome to swap seats again

I was def in my own seat, and I have good eyesight, and the 3 guys sitting next to me all noticed we were further behind the goal than last season too! It's just a bit wierd, I can't work out what has happened. Agreed the photos posted earlier show it hasn't moved much but it's certainly moved, 4 of us sat there noticed it and agreed. The halfway line and tech boxes do still sit in line with the tunnel, I was sat there for the Chelsea game so just can't fathom out what happened at the South end. I do know the corner flag used to be directly in front of us, it's now a little to our left.

It's been draged about 3 Mtrs towards the west stand as well, so viewers in the east are further away, and the rich people in the west are closer to the action. Money talks. On the other hand it's probably something to do with driving cranes up and down to fix the corners and hospitality boxes in the south.

I've just heard from the club.
After the FBS gigs the pitch was in such a state that they dug up the Withdean pitch (5yds shorter that the Amex), loaded it on lorries, and transported it to Falmer.
They then stitched it altogether.
So the goal lines are actually 2.5 yds away from where they were last season.

They even reconstructed the process and sent me this photo

Very good!

And I am positively, absolutely, certain that I was in the right seat!

Maybe the Wall Of Noise is making the the West Stand move south.

Give it a few more years and your view will be the car park.

Apparently premier clubs pitches now have to be the same size 105 x 68. I know we are not premier(yet) but is the change for the future?

K.21. Unless otherwise permitted by the Board, in League Matches the length
of the pitch shall be 105 metres and its breadth 68 metres

Which I think is near enough what the Amex is

I have to agree with the OP, the pitch looked as if it had been shortened by good few feet. I even checked it out with my son but you could see the old lines. We wondered if it had been a Poyet tactic..
