Let's face it !
No matter, as PM / Government of whatever persuasion, you just cannot run the country without having the media on board because, if they go for you (against you), you have lost due to the power of the media to turn things against you. In my belief, NI probably swung the previous two general elections.
The big problem with NI is that they controlled too much of the media and, without this current 'fuss' would have controlled even more !
Not too sure how this can be turned around other than by parliament restricting the media, not in terms of what it says, but in terms of how large any one group can become.

The media, especially the papers have tried to control the country for too long. Stick to reporting the news. It's been a case of the tail wagging the dog for too long. All this can only be a good thing in the end.
