The club obviously wanted to have this record deal done and dusted before the Fan Forum.

Perhaps it was even seen as a sweetener for a certain departure, with Norwood coming in?

How emotions can change from one day to the next. :flounce:

Never heard of Norwood. Absolutely p!ssed off how we've let our biggest ever signing slip thro our hands.

Love comments like this. How is it "letting it slip", exactly? Do you think the club can force a player to sign? Nail his feet to the dressing room floor until he agrees to put his signature on a contract?

We could offer to make somebody our best paid player in history, and it wouldn't stop another club coming in on the sly and offering more.

Have a little grasp of reality, at least.

"Not a clue why we are after Pritchard - we don't need him. Whole window has yet again been a joke for Norwich.
Take Prichard. Don't want him.
Pointless. With Hoolahhan, Naismith and Maddison. We need a bloody striker!!!"

Nor me so I had to Google him. Bit of an anti climax from Prickhard.

In terms of quality, Norwood is no big 'anti-climax' from Pritchard. He's played about 200 games at our level, and 40-odd full international caps. He's a good player. Rather keep Stephens though - if that were the choice.

On this day last year, we announced the wonderful signing of club legend, Bobby Zamora. How our emotions have changed! Today will see the announcement of Calleri to West Ham and Pritchard to Norwich. As the transfer merry-go-round reaches full speed, I now fear for the Albion future of Knockeart, Dunk, Stephens & Kayal. If only we'd lost 0-2 to Boro instead of 0-3. What a kick in the balls.

Let's have a little perspective here
Pritchard is a Spurs reserve, he had a good season three years ago, he played about ten minutes in the Premier league last season

He's hardly George Best is he?

Couldn't agree more. So easy to spend other peoples cash.....

The Club shared the Argus story on Facebook about the deal being hijacked by Norwich about 3 hours ago.

Could be a smokescreen of course.....

The club haven't shared anything. The Facebook account you are referring to is a fake.

The official club Facebook page has a blue tick (as does their Twitter account) and always has a link back to their Seagulls.co.uk page. They've only posted about record sales of shirts, and about the first six matches of the season, in the last 36 hours.

Na mate we have a first 11 to challenge for top 2 in this league assuming Newcastle don't buy them all in the next 28 days. If CH wants to play 4 4 1 1 put knocky in the hold and Murphy or KLL wide. Happy days #holdthenerve # keepthefaith #together #Grandee

Newcastle don't worry me. They're a car-crash of a club. Something will happen and they'll implode.

So we're still at Base Camp but with a weaker player. Rather keep Stephens. Today has been dreadful.

Or, looking at it another way, we still have all the same (good) players we did on Monday, and are no stronger, nor any weaker

That's even more depressing. We've lost our marquee signing to a club that don't even want him. What an almighty kick in the knackers.
