I say leave it to Uncle Dick. He's got a pretty good track record ... 100% when he goes outside the club for a manager ... so let him make a good decision for us again.

Give it to Danny Cullip or Charlie Oatway, or maybe both as a joint player-manager gig. These players have been consistently motivating the team a damn' sight more than all these cynical steering job managers who have used the Albion as nothing more than a stepping stone to the job they REALLY want.

I reckon Micky Adams is going to get the sack at Leicester now they're bottom and he'll come back to us :)

Harty just mentioned on the radio that Dick has had three seperate meetings with Steve Cotterill over the last week or so.

He also said Kinnear has priced himself out of the market

I am slightly perturbed about the Steve Cotterill choice as he played his football in the lower divisions in a very poor period of English football, when the percentage game and 5-3-2 wing-back system was played. To me he does not seem to have the breadth of football experience.

How can he overcome this deficiency of he has never played in a decent standard of football? Maybe he can?

Seems about Leyton Orient standard to me.

Bob Booker is to be preferred? Pity SC did not stay at Stoke as they would have been relegated instead of us.

Who on the list in our list has both:

1) experience of higher class football
2) managerial experience

Not many: Steve Mc Mahon, Liam Brady (both probably under contract?) Ian Dowie (no contract?)

What about McGhee?

Apart from Leicester, his record looks pretty good to me. Seems to fit a lot of criterea:

Experienced with contacts (managed Reading, Wolves, Leicester and Millwall). Success in lower divisions (not only got Milwall promoted but kept them in Div. 1 top ten since-they are still 8th now). Has managed without big budgets (most of them probably bigger than ours admittedly).

Worth approaching to add to DK's shortlist (or at least the NSC poll)?

Agreed. I'm surprised he's lost his Millwall position (by Mutual Consent - ha!)
