I'd get Murray in if possible.

Would much rather face Burnley, Middlesbrough etc. with a striker in the 18 who has scored 30+ in this league in a season.

Hemed gets injured the day after the window closes. Bobby's knees are having an off day. It means we play without a single striker on the bench. Crazy talk.

Stockdale, Maenpaa and Ankegren all break fingers in a freak training accident - quick sign another goalkeeper or two as we haven't got any cover!

You would need a squad of about 50 to allow for the sort of cover that appears to be required, for the "what if" scenarios...

That is an absurd assumption and bares no relevance to the situation re a possible striker need.

No but you can cover the most important, a striker which you couldnt bring in after the deadlne. If all 3 keepers were out the FL would gjve special dispensation to bring one in because it is a specialist position but not so a striker.

Is a striker most important? What would you prefer: having to play a few games as 4-5-1 or with Skalak or Murphy as striker, or having to play without 2 recognised centre halves -like we did when Derby tore us a new one in the playoffs 2 years ago?

If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Worse case scenario play Murphy down the middle in a Baldock role, we aren't short of wingers so this is just a slight reshuffle.

Also how match fit is Murray, would we have to wait a game or two to get him up and running.

Chris Benteke

How about a cheeky loan bid for Chris Benteke from Liverpool. Surplus to requirements at Anfield, not getting on with his coach and causing friction in the squad. Would want some football before the Euro's so looks a good match all round for me.

Causing friction in the squad? No thanks.

Adama Diomande's not used at all for Hull City, despite being one of the most exciting prospects from the Norwegian league before Bruce's lot bought him. Loaning him doesn't sound that bad....

Yes, it doesn't matter who we sign, we've just got to sign somebody - anybody! - or else the wheels will fall off!

Never mind the goalies!........what if Bong and Liam both crack a metatarsal in training tomorrow. Desperate need for cover there...................

Not at all but should always be looking to improve the squad and if there are loan options that could be the difference between 2nd and 3rd then we should be exploring what we can get in. Who knows when we may have this chance again and with the likes of Chris Benteke out of favour no-one can argue that's not better quality than we already have.

Maybe someone can explain why striker laden and high goal scoring Bournemouth saw fit to pay Kenwyne Jones (?) 50k a week as a loanee at this time last season. He saw them over the line with some important goals didn't he. Seems a little cavalier to me to wing it and sign nobody if a player of Murray's calibre is available. We saw with Bong and Rosenior how a couple of injuries can take the wheels off.

Do not try to be logical it doesnt suit the club can not make mistakes brigade. Some of us have been there and seen it all before like Wembley play off 1991 when we played a less than fit Johnny Byrne and suffered as a result.

He played 59 minutes in total across 6 appearances never starting a game . Scored 1 goal. An equaliser against Ipswich in his first game coming off the bench although as it turned out Bournemouth would have still been champions if they'd lost that match. So he didn't exactly get them over the line. One person who couldn't explain it was Kenwyne himself calling it bizarre "with seven games to go, I don’t really see the sense in it." he said.
