If BG was boss, we'd have a squad of 89+ players. 80 of which could play left back.

I would have a double up in every position and players in the U21s able to step in for crucial specialist positions like a goal keeper, centre back striker and left back. Not too much to expect from a squad.

Do not try to be logical it doesnt suit the club can not make mistakes brigade. Some of us have been there and seen it all before like Wembley play off 1991 when we played a less than fit Johnny Byrne and suffered as a result.

The poster wasn't being logical, he was being factually incorrect. As is so often on here of late opinions are posed as fact then swallowed and regurgitated by the masses to prove a point.

You are missing the point. He was there if required. An injury to Hemed and we are screwed in my opinion, we have no one other than Zamora to play that role and he can play 60 mins a week at best.

I'm not missing the point at all. OP said he got Bournemouth over the line. He didn't. OP said he scored some vital goals . He didn't. And the OP said could anyone explain the reasons for the move. And i quoted the player himself who said he himself couldn't "see the sense in it".
As for Hemed. Well Hughton obviously thinks Wilson & Baldock can step in if Hemed isn't playing as thats the starting two he chose for our last two games with Zamora not risked. So we self evidently do have someone "other than Zamora" to play that role.

They may be able to step in but they dont play the same role as Hemed or Zamora is my point.
And I didnt say you were missing the point ;-)

But er, we do.
We currently have 24 players (or 26 if you include Caspar and Walton) in the first team squad even with the growing roster of loans (Ince, Manu, Crofts, Rea and the like).
Some of which we can recall if we have to.
So we do have a double up in every position assuming Uwe will be ready to play a part in the run in.
Even if you discount Holla and Chicksen , we still have 22. ie: 2 for every position.

GK: Stockdale, Maenapaa
RB: Bruno, Calde
LB: Bong, Rosenior.
CB: Dunk, Greer
CB: Goldson, Uwe
Mid: Sidwell, Kayal, Towell, Stephens
Wingers: KLL, Knockeart, Murphy, Skalak
Forwards: Zamora, Wilson, Hemed, Baldock

(Rosenior, Calde can also play in mid)

Holla, Chicksen, Walton, Ankergren also training every day as well.

You are spot on we have genuine excellent cover everywhere in my opinion except that hold up front man role.

An injury to hemed next week and we are left with Bobby for the final 8 games and he can play for an hour a week.

Just seems sensible to me to get another player of this type in for the remainder of the season even if he is not needed

I would hate to see our chances ruined for the sake of a couple of hundred grand to cover a loan signing.

I don't think its a reluctance to spend the money. Its a reluctance on the part of a certain manager to let a player go.
And failing him then there is clearly a lack of suitable alternatives who would be able to play a role in a top 2 Champ team when by definition they would currently be kicking their heels in a Prem or perhaps a Champ squad. Let alone the risk of how this might impact on the form of Baldock, Wilson or Hemed.

No we don't. An injury to Hemed would be bad; an injury to Kayal would be far worse. It's just the way it is - you can't cover every position as well as the first choice.

We have excellent cover for Kayal, not as good but excellent cover.

The difference being if Hemed is injured we have Bobby for that role who might manage an hour a week, that is not cover for that role

He played 59 minutes in total across 6 appearances never starting a game . Scored 1 goal. An equaliser against Ipswich in his first game coming off the bench although as it turned out Bournemouth would have still been champions if they'd lost that match. So he didn't exactly get them over the line. One person who couldn't explain it was Kenwyne himself calling it bizarre "with seven games to go, I don’t really see the sense in it." he said.

I should have checked the facts more thoroughly, it's a fair cop!

I would still like us to sign Murray though

Do you really think it would (negatively) impact our current strikers' form? If anything, it should IMPROVE their form, due to increased competition for places...
