Today, JFC for sure as he is best suited to that position of what was available. That said he is more suited in a defensive role for me. Colunga would have been out of position, more effective on the wing, which he certainly was today.

I didn't see anyone worse than him or contribute so little. If he worked his socks off and did everything for the cause I wouldn't be posting but he doesn't

I'd like those who think the criticism of JFC is harsh to actually back up their arguments with what they think he does really well that enhances the teams performance.

All i read is that we're all being mean, and he's a replacement for Barnes as a scapegoat, but no reall analysis of what it is that he does really well which we couldn't live without.

Tell us what we would be losing if JFC was dropped.

I'm all ears...........

I did. I disagree slightly as it was Tex that took JFC's role not Calde so the point and comparison re effort put it is, in my mind, slightly redundant. It is a measured response but it's one of the few.

I disagree with what you say but your post is measured and I would've been happy to discuss his strengths or weaknesses with somebody like you. Unfortunately you started your post with the bit in bold, and detracted from any point you might've had from the off.

Criticise him, sure - but don't say you've watched him for 2 games and think he's one of the worst midfielders you've EVER seen for the albion? Then you've probably only been watching for 2 games. I'm in my 20s and could name 40 or more terrible players we had in the gillingham & withdean years. It's an absolutely ridiculous statement.

Well, I've seen enough of him with both eyes to conclude that he just doesn't contribute very much. As one of our own youngsters I'd LOVE him to be doing the business, but whatever he brings to the team, I don't see it. He doesn't tackle. He's not creative. He's not a box-to-box workhorse. He's not a goalscorer. He's not a dead-ball specialist. So (at the risk of repeating a famous thread title), what exactly DOES he do ? Having played getting on 60-odd games now, he really should be improving and making an impact in games, but I think he's a passenger in the team, our midfield always looks significantly weaker when he is in it. And that's not judging him today, because whatever midfield we put out there would have its work cut out dealing with Arsenals. But I've seen enough of him in the league this season to form the opinion that he is lightweight and out of his depth. He really needs to STEP UP this season if he's going to be anything other than a League One scuffler at best.

Swindon (LC) Cleared off our goal line after some defensive errors. Scored penalty for third. Won the second penalty, scored it.

Wolves Joint NSC MotM with Stockdale
Reading Scored our first.
Arsenal (FA) Credited with an assist (I assume the first, as Holla was noted as playing the ball through for Baldock for the second)

He's not awful as such, but I can't see what he brings to the team.

Think a loan spell to a L1 side would do him good if we have adequate cover. For me, he simply isn't Championship standard at the moment.

Not general good play, thankless 'doing a job for the team' performances, or just any good pass, but things like: goals, assists, goal-saving blocks/clearances, any time a player is picked as sponsor's man of the match, or is rated highest on the player ratings threads on here.

I am not taking the piss, but I am not saying this proves or disproves anyone's opinion of his quality. It is merely a list of his notable moments in the season so far.
