Anyone who has done the prudential ride before know if they are strict on you keeping to your start time? Want to ride with a friend but his time is 30 minutes earlier so thought I could join his queue.

Thanks for the tip as I was thinking of upgrading my wheelset. I imagine they would be a worthy upgrade from Mavic CXP22 rims on Felt hubs? as you mention the wheels on a mid range bike is usually what they skimp on. What difference in riding would I most likely to notice?

Well done Bad Ash, I think I might have been at the same multisport that cannot be mentioned. It was odd cycling on what seemed almost all flat after spending most my time cycling around the Downs. People seem to slow down on even the smallest ramp. Guess we are very lucky to have such great...

I think so but the idea was to get the Ferry over to Dieppe then enjoy the cycle to Paris. For something that seemed fairly simple has become a bit of a nightmare. Like the fact that when you try and book a ferry with a child and adult it will only let you book 1 bike for both of you! so then...

Thanks, I will check it out. It is interesting when I spoke to the Eurostar person she told me they receive lots of calls just like mine so sounds like something they need to address

Hello all, I am cycling from Dieppe to Paris next week over a couple of days with my kids. I am looking to follow Donald Hirsch low cycling traffic route (http://www.donaldhirsch.com/dieppeparis.pdf) Has anybody tried it and if so anything to look out for. Bit worried about getting lost in the...

It's ebay for me. You get lots of components where guys have decided to strip the components off their new bikes to put on higher spec components. I build a half decent spec mountain bike a few years ago with Deore parts using ebay for less than half the price it would have cost new. Also seems...

You must be completely insane, I had a quick look. It's not just the distance but the amount of hills involved. That's not like any rolling hills I have seen. Have you got any idea how long that will take you? That would have been right up my street (not) but riding the capital to coast charity...

I find it interesting the huge interest that the media take in Bradley Wiggins (not that he does not deserve it) compared with Cavendish who I feel matches the achievement of Wiggins. I guess it has a lot to do with personality but that it a pretty massive achievement by Cav

Love watching a good sprint finish, he looked so strong and looking forward to seeing him again in the TDF. I have enjoyed the Giro, just annoyed me that the TV schedule has been so rubbish so it's been hard to watch many stages. So how comes Nibali is not contesting the TDF?

It was not meant as a dig and are quite surprised i'm only 800 points behind. My knowledge past the cycling big names is shockingly awful

Hi Stat, can i ask you a question. You obviously know loads about cycling, follow all the latest news and form and yet you seem to always end up right in the middle of the fantasy cycling league. Is this because you are playing by Stat rules and pay no attention or interest in how to get the...

Fantastic by Cav, seems like he has got the right team around him now. Do you guys think he can win the points classification again at the TDF this year?

Well if you give him the benefit of the doubt he might not have known about the cycle lane and ended up on a fast stretch of road. I do worry for cyclists that I see on dual carriage ways and do understand the dangers both for the car driver and the cyclist. I do think the best thing you can do...

I am really disappointed that there is no early evening highlights on Eurosport, it seems you have to wait till 10.45 for any kind of highlights which is far too late for me. I am really surprised with the whole TV scheduling as I think there is quite a bit of demand for good TV coverage and...

Dave Wingnut? He would never be a DS rider, an out and out winner if ever i heard one. I think there is a guy in Brighton who changed his name to Sprocket, now that's a real cycling geek :)

Looking forward to the Giro d'Italia but disappointed to find there are no highlights on ITV. After showing La Vuelta last year thought that they would follow a similar pattern. Would have thought it was due to TV rights rather than lack of interest. So does Eurosport have a similar highlights...

Thanks, I think your right about trying to enjoy it. I am at least 2-3 mph slower at the moment over similar rides this year and have a tendency to just try and ride hard to catch up rather than just enjoying it and getting the miles in.
