Strange because he's been a professional for us BUT you can tell that his 'heart' has never been here. He wanted to go to Leeds and he didn't really look 'happy' here

I've never doubted his commitment to us on the field.

I never got the impression he particularly wanted to go to Leeds either.

I don't care . He could have had a desperate desire to dress up as an otter and goose people on Palace Pier for all I'm concerned.

Well, if he is off, so glad I got to the Man City game to see him play for the Albion in person. An absolute quality player....but if there's a bid of £50m, that's difficult to turn down.

£50m is tremendous business by us. Not many centre backs move for that kind of money.

Agreed, this is the model TB has put in place to start to make the club’s self sufficiency actually happen, we all knew the plan didn’t we?

It’s a little sad but hey ho, we need to get used to it. Biss next?

Hopefully this is not true.....it will cost me a tenner. Never thought Arsenal would pay as much as another club. Still the money stays in my wallet

For now.

50million seems like a lot but just imagine how much we could have got for him if we'd loaned him to leeds for another season instead of selfishly ruining his career by forcing him against his and god's (own county's) will to play for unappreciative us.

He wanted to go to Leeds so it's no surprise he'll accept Arsenal also.

His agent certainly wanted him to, I think!

Disappointed no-one looks like gazumping Arsenal, not so much for the money, but I think Arsenal is a very disappointing move for the player. I'd have thought he could do better than that. It's also a great shame that most Brighton fans will never get the chance to see him in the stripes.

As others have said I'm surprised it's Arsenal and not someone bigger.
I'm also surprised it's this season and not next.

The way that guy talks, like he’s a club insider  We are very tight lipped - he’s stating the obvious from the Sky report - amazing these ‘itk’ type of tweets only appear just after the mainstream articles - eg Sky Sports  Yet people fall for it!

Good money. Very sensible business by us considering we have the likes of Ostigard and Dendoncker waiting in the wings.

£50m. Wow. Good luck to him. So now Joel Veltman will take his place in his preferred position of right sided centre back. We paid £950k for a Champions League full international and I expect Joel wanted to be playing first team football in his preferred position.
Gives a chance to get Ostigard into the squad as back up with Burn.
Nice business, nice succession planning.
As the cherry on the cake can we now get Yves to stay with a longer contract, and the promise that we won’t stand in his way next year if we receive a bid which matches our valuation in the same way as we’ve allowed White to go.
