That should be the last chance saloon. We have a pretty good squad, but his record is poor 20% win ratio. A point per game. He can not engineer a victory, therefore IMO he is not good enough.

Zef, I think the difference is that we're expecting to win these games now, based mostly on the quality of the expansive football that Potter's brought.

It's frustrating that we're not, but that's in stark contrast to before when we'd be setting up not to lose. And frequently did at the end of CH's reign.

Rightly or wrongly, Potter's being seen as a long-term project, hence the contract extension. It's more likely that he'll be here than not into 2021.

We're generally doing enough to win games. Yes, the fact that we're not can't be overlooked purely on style alone. But we are playing good football.

IMO Potter should be backed with some decent money in January to bring in someone to finish off all these chances.

A proven striker, not a utility forward shoehorned into the position. We've got enough of those already.

And some Leadership and Emotional Intelligence to bring in a set-piece coach would be good too.

Still, it's always been a game of opinions and that's unlikely to change anytime soon.

January transfer window potentially gives Potter a chance to make some useful additions. If they don’t make an impact and we remain as spineless and toothless as we are currently then it might be time to say goodbye in my eyes

I actually think there are too many players in and around the squad that need to be out on loan.

One or two areas need strengthening. But that will push others down the pecking order.

Players will get used to the " not playing " so need to try and get a settled team with a backup in every position then get the others out on loan instead of trying to appease everyone with a little bit of game time here and there .

I genuinely have to question whether everyone cares whether we stay in the Premier league and whether that matters in relation to this question. We're currently heading to a really challenging position where we will be staring at relegation unless we start winning some games. For those that are Potter In, what would be the point where his position comes into question? If we are relegated? If we survive by finishing 17th would that be OK for him to stay?

I'm mostly on the fence but this calendar year has been bad from a results perspective and our consistent playing soft is massively concerning. We aren't ruthless, we can't claw a win out of a game, there's seemingly no responsibility for players making mistakes. That's concerning. And the results are concerning.

If the ambition is to stay up he has to go. 6 wins in the last 38 games stretching back over a year. Why would anyone look at that stat and think we’ll survive? If nothing changes, the reality is we’re doomed. I’ve heard all the excuses under the sun in recent months but the one thing that never changes is that BHAFC does not and cannot win PL games of football.
The team has to many weak links, considering we are desperate for any kind of win surprised we didn’t shut up shop with 10 to go, introducing Veltman would of been something at least.

Ok, we may be getting crossed wires but when I see people say today was embarrassing I’m assuming they’re talking about our inept defending from crosses and set pieces, a frailty so obvious it’s painful, but maybe that’s me giving too much credit to folk who don’t post everything in blue and white with a smile on their face.

My blue and white face paint, like an old clown, has long run and worn off - I also think you did the poster of the "embarrassing" post a favour, as he can now say that's exactly what he meant - but I'm sure (as I can be) that it wasn't.

Any self respecting NSC follower would know that posting something like that would get jumped all over, so if there was a nuanced point to the "embarrassing" I am sure they would have made that clear...

Firstly today is a good result. We of course deserved all 3 points, but a point away at the Hammers is always a good one.

In most games we are dominating possession and creating a ton of chances. Currently our players aren’t taking those chances (missed open goals, penalties, headers etc) and to compound that are making costly individual mistakes at the back.

Now if we were getting hammered 4-0 every game, or being dominated and creating no chances that would be a very different situation.

The fact we dominate possession and deserve to win most of our games indicates the manager is setting up the team with the correct tactics. Potter in.

The counter argument is that we're slow and predictable. Our attacking play comes from the same attacking direction all the time. There's never a counter attack to take advantage of space, at all. So we dominate and create some chances but they aren't the easiest.

We also have the worst set pieces in the league. That's just shocking that there has been no improvement. I constantly see people saying shout individual errors but constant ones mean there's something else fundamentally wrong somewhere. We aren't aggressive to clear the ball, we're passive as ****.

Finally, the substitions are god awful every game. Why he brings on Gross to slow the game down even more us beyond me. We never go to try and win a game in the last 10 minutes. It's really negative and his changes don't positively impact the game.

So yes, on the surface there's positivity around teh style of football. But there are issues that don't even remotely look being corrected after a calendar year. Do we just hope these issues fade away?

You should check out the zonal marking thread if you haven’t already. I do agree set pieces are a concern. And I didn’t realise until that thread today that Potter had the *worst record in the championship for set piece goals conceded (*double check that). So I agree on that, but I can’t agree “we never go for it”. Seems like we’ve had quite a few late rallies under him, Villa, Man U, Chelsea, Arse, Liverpool..

I still feel most of our failings are individual ones this season. Missed chances and giving away goals, and I feel sorry for GP as I genuinely think he gets our tactics spot on more often than not.

Now there's the thing with football and football fans, someone a few posts back was saying the complete opposite, as in why can't we shut up shop late in the game. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...!

Yet we never counter attack. Ever. So we have a good base strategy but no layers to it, so it's one dimensional. That's on Potter totally. We like teh base style, the passing and control of the game and chance creation. But why every time we get it do we slow it down and try to build really meekly?

When it comes to individual errors why is there no responsibility? **** up and you're out of the team. Make a mistake get substituted. It's always softly softly like the mistakes don't matter. And that runs through everything we do. Surely that's on Potter, surely you need to start doing something about them?
