"We" booed Bong because he accused one of our own as being racist. I know that it's looked upon as throwaway comment for some of you (and many others), but it's a really nasty thing to accuse someone of.

In the current climate calling someone a racist is very nearly looked upon as someone being vicious murderer.

Rightly or wrongly he was always going to get booed. He's no different to when John Terry, Ashley Cole, Owen Coyle etc got booed at our place.

Wow, that's a monumental level of ****ing stupidity. Tribalism at it's very worst. Bit like all those Republicans in Alabama who voted for a known paedophile because he was wearing the right colour ribbon. Any fans who booed need to grow the **** up.

If you are happy with El Pres referring to racists within the Burnley fanbase, using this as an opportunity to get their bigoted kicks from giving grief to a person due to the colour of his skin, then we have indeed "got there in the end"...

Context is everything.

Don't worry, in failing to see it you aren't on your own on this thread.

We'll revisit this thread the next time Rodders plays at the Amex, or when Palace do.

Izqierdo and Bong were not booed for the colour of their skin. Bong was booed because he made repeated allegations about Rodriguez which Burnley fans do not think are true; Izqierdo was not booed at all.

The truth of the matter is neither Bong or JR version of what happened on that afternoon has been proven unless you can point me to the ruling that upholds what JR claimed he said.

The truth is it was inconclusive so it is one mans word against the other and the statements both players released are clear they both still stand by their version of events.

Despite no proof either way your shameful supporters decided to take it upon themselves to make up their own minds and proceed to target Bong and throw in a nice bit of homophonic chanting to boot.

Personally if our crowd had acted like that I would be ashamed but here we are with you and a selection of your fans on here desperately trying to justify the actions.

It was odd and misplaced behaviour on Saturday and Hughton and kick it out were right to call you out on it.

Perhaps switch off the computer and have a good hard think who knows the penny might drop

I promise not to tell you all to grow up or lump the entire Brighton population into one category.

I don't think Burnley fans who bood Bong are racist if that's what you're hinting. They aren't booing him because he is black. They are booing him because of the accusation.

However, I do I think they are mind-numbingly, burnley-blinkered, socially unaware idiots who have absolutely no concept of what booing a player who dared to believe he had been RACIALLY ABUSED looks like, and the message it sends to those who would ever be worried about coming forward if they believe they have been subjected to such abuse.

Hope that helps. I'm sure it won't. Get information through feels a bit like pushing a watermelon through a keyhole.

Yes in reply to your just a town full of racists.

All very petty like, but that is football fans in general for you.

So in reply to being called racist you thought "hang on, we don't want to be tarnished as a group of people who are anti a section of society"

So you chose to be homophobic in response.

BRILLIANT.

No.

Further to The FA’s charge against Jay Rodriguez, for alleged discriminatory misconduct, and the Independent Regulatory Commission’s subsequent verdict of not proven, Brighton & Hove Albion have issued the following statement on behalf of Gaetan Bong.

"Mr Rodriguez’s actions during our game against West Bromwich Albion, followed by statements issued by him and on his behalf by his various PR and legal advisors, have resulted in my character being questioned and subsequently for a number of accusations to be directed at me.

"Please let me be clear: I know what I heard and I did not mishear. My conscience in raising the complaint is therefore entirely clear.

"This was my first such experience in more than three years in this country and I would never seek to bring a false charge against a fellow professional.

"Those who have accused me of doing that do not know me. Equally those who have expressed an opinion were not there on the pitch at the time and only Mr Rodriguez and I know exactly what was said and I stand by my original complaint.

"I now wish to continue with my career, and won't be commenting further on this matter even if Mr Rodriguez chooses to issue any further statements."

Brighton & Hove Albion fully support Gaetan in the issuing of this statement. The club will not be making any further comment on this matter.

Go on then, what is that line in reference to? What is it reiterating?

Stereotypical nonsense that's all.

Don't worry we won't be going out hunting gays with crossbows or lynching them.

Try again.

I mean, got one of yours on the previous page likening JR to a paedophile so by extension that stance can be applied to all Brighton fans?

We've got some Burnley fans in the Cricket Field End, one a friend of mine, who claim to have head "Town full of P***s" from a minority of Brighton fans. So by extension all Brighton fans are racist?
