Would anybody have taken this at Christmas at the start of the season?

Very well played. Should have been 2 or 3 and avoided the nerves at the very end, but they all played very well. No weal link out there today.

I know we say we need a striker to stay up, but I look at this team and wonder just how good they would be with a better striker. Possibly very.

We did have a weak link, it's called a goal scorer. With the amount of chances we had this should have been put to bed by half time.

March poor ? Do you follow brighton. He helps SO MUCH with defensive duties and has been receiving great comments from the stream i was watching.

Solly March was brilliant today, helped out Suttner defensively and showed some great touches going forwards. Sure he made the wrong decisions a few times but overall was a threat with his ability and intelligence.

Cracking result today. Great to get a win finally, but we should have won this 3 or 4 nil. Too many missed opportunities. On the plus side Goldson and Sutner both were brilliant.

Well summed up.

We got lucky with our goal. Gomez let his team down with a bad attempted save.
Definitely could have been 4+ had we a player who could hit the target confidently.

Very happy with the result.
But the result doesn't show any kind of improvement. Watford were very very poor.

Second half, March was great in defence. Poor in attack. Poor decisions and passes.
Not knocking him though, I think on his day he is quality. His total lack of a right foot will hold him back though.

Merry Christmas to you too and all NSC posters. It was a lovely gift from the team today.

This.

Happy Christmas and New Year to 99% of posters on NSC.

The other 1% are just a waste of space :)
But compliments of the season to them too. As a gesture of goodwill.

Just a shame he doesn't embarrass full backs as he did in the Championship, having said that, Bale was a late starter.

Doogie004 must've only watched a couple of games over the last few years. March contributes so much and Hemed just needs to add a couple of goals to his all round game. Quite enjoyed that today........shame Duffy will come straight back in, Goldson deserves another game on that performance.
Best I've seen of Suttner as well

I think the question should be would anybody not have taken this at Christmas at the start of the season!

Great first half. A good transfer window and I can't see us going down.

For all our moaning, frustration and joy, being 12th come Christmas is definitely more than we could ever have expected.

Pascal Gross won this for us again again. Played in dangerous balls from the set pieces and had a go when we were lacking killer instinct. Not to take away from the result or state the obvious but Hemed is not a PL striker and cant cope at this level.

We rode our luck at the end there, but in truth we should have put the game to bed earlier with the chances created.

That said, we were due a little bit of the rub of the green after deflected goals in previous games.

With one more decent addition up front, there's certainly enough quality in the side and in the managerial position for a midtable finish.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I agree. Defensively, he was fantastic alongside Sutner. I like the way the two of them play together. We look much more balanced with Knocky and Bruno on the right, and Sutner and March on the left.
Our central midfield worked so hard to win the first and second balls, and totally dominated them. Our only weak link was Hemed up front. He just doesn't look like he will ever score. I can't help but think if Murray was on instead, we would have won 3-0.

Dry, sunny 17 degrees on Monday. Oh, that's your weather...
