The more I think about this the more it annoys me. I recall now in Lille also, the UK bobbies all together stood behind french police filming front on at England fans outside pubs which is always going to make anything look worse than it is. Shame we have not seen our own PC Darren Balkham criticise French police and their poor tactics with England fans during the tournament, especially as he has it all on film...

The English Police has had one objective in France - collate evidence to bring English lads to court when they get home. Despite the huge terror threat, local gangs and of course the Russians, all they were ever concerned about is securing FBO's. Fairly sickening in my opinion. Especially when you consider they've had lads up before a judge while other England fans remain in comas following the business with the Russians...

Pretty much sums up this country, you get certain groups who are untouchable while the the soft targets get hit as an easy revenue stream???

British police intention was to target normal football fans to give them FBO's.
I dont think so to be honest.
The story sounds a bit strange. These guys claim they were attacked, and just defended themselves. They then went on to confront the police filming it? If you were defending yourself, im not sure that confronting the police about filming it makes much sense.

so if you are suddenly set about by a 50 or 60 strong group of hard intentioned , sober and fit opposing (call them fans if you must) men....you are supposed to remain calm , collected and affable to all those around you.....having been involved in spatts with greeks , spanish , dutch and turks ( by far the worst) i can tell you that when the shit hits the fan all reason goes out of the window......perhaps they were a bit pissed off at being filmed getting beaten up by their own police force......whose taxes happen to pay the wages there of....ffs..!! or perhaps scared shitless at being set upon by a bunch of tooled up , methed up thugs.....!!

There's no point arguing with him. He has his opinion which he is entitled to. Naive and blinkered as it might be.

Think its a bit more naive to actually believe there were no troublemakers among the English fans.
Im going on the fact, and I repeat, that they were filmed by British police confronting Russian fans, not defending themselves, and following this by confronting the police for filming them. The video was reviewed by a police team in the UK who considered it worth an FBO. It was viewed by a British magistrate, who appears to have agreed. My opinion is based on facts, rather than myth.

I never said there were no troublemakers in Marseille. I've only defended the actions of the Brighton lads.

I would appeal (Crown court so legal aid). There is probably a time limit to doing this. The conditions imposed restrict movement and could have an impact beyond football.

I would also get as many written character references together as possible

Are there any witnesses?

The club ban is the least of their problems

The ones with the numerous football violence links on their social media?
The Russians were clearly the aggressors for most of the day. Thats clear, and no argument, but to argue that nobody else was guilty is a bit daft. Im sure these blokes are probably decent, although, a couple are known to other members of the board, and seem to have a bit of a history.

I personally think the FBO is probably right, but BHA were wrong giving them an indefinite ban.

russian and polish thuggery in particular has reached new heights over the last 4 or 5 years.......it is for those who know their shit to admit that we no longer are a player on the hoolie stage and for those such as dave to wring his cardigan sleeves at then terrible smudge upon the reputation of our once great nation ....of whom he is a relentless defender......and custodian.....:flounce::shootself

I have recently come to the conclusion that he is nothing but a troll, will argue that black is white until the cows come home, but in reality his opinions are worthless.
