My close friend's brother, Daniele Polito, has now been confirmed by his sister as the 6th victim. Although I was not close to Daniele himself, I have known him since he was 2 years old. In recent years I only saw him a handful of times, but on those occasions he was always entertaining! My fondest memories of him though will always be as a young boy, singing and doing the dance moves to Britney Spears songs to me and his brother in his pyjamas whilst we were in a terrible state from the night before.

RIP Daniele

Very sorry for your loss, I did fear that name would be confirmed given the circumstances.

Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale will wear specially-produced gloves bearing the names of two of the Shoreham Airshow disaster victims at tomorrow’s game.

Nike and specialist retailer Just Keepers have provided the Seagulls stopper with gloves bearing the first names of Matt Grimstone and Jacob Schilt for tomorrow’s game against Ipswich.

Matt Grimstone was a groundsman at Albion’s training complex in Lancing and also played in the same position as Stockdale for Worthing United while his team-mate Jacob Schilt was a big Seagulls supporter.

Stockdale has been among a number of Albion players to express their condolences to the victims of Saturday’s tragic air crash and visited the family of Matt Grimstone earlier this week.
The 29-year-old will also wear a special warm-up top in memory of the pair before the game.

God, how awful, I'm so sorry.

I visited the bridge today - an incredibly poignant and moving experience. Whilst there I saw an ITV news reporter on live TV talking about Daniele, and people watching and listening were in tears. I know I was.

I also saw a very moving letter, I think it was from Daniele's sister, in which she expressed her awful fears and her devastation at what has happened.

RIP.

Thanks. I visited the bridge yesterday afternoon, incredibly moving but uplifting to see so many people there, and the flowers and messages are something else. For us football fans it was nice to see so many shirts and scarfs, and I was particularly moved by the Crystal Palace shirt with the BHA scarf tied to it, that really put the rivalry into its proper perspective. Daniele's brother stayed with me last night and it was good to see him, he is a wonderful man.

Just a reminder for those of us at Shoreham (elsewhere?) minutes silence being observed at 1.20 in various retail outlets ..what a long week it's been

Lovely moment in pub opposite Ipswich station full of brighton. Bell rung behind the bar to start and end a well observed minutes silence. Very very nice touch from them

Sad times, and sorry for your loss. Pretty overwhelming on the bridge and riverbank today.

Great praise for the club from Chris Hughton in his interview after the game - basically said that cannot think more highly about the club than he does now and that they have been excellent in everything that they have done all week - everyone dedicates the win today to the victims.

Sky News this morning said 11 victims have been identified but there could be more victims.
Stupid thing to say I thought. The police have made it clear they believe there are 11 victims.

When the body count goes up with disasters/accidents/terrorist acts you just sense the media
are getting more and more excited because the more that die the bigger the story.
