Dunk - Refusing to play?

Plus, as we just took 3 points of them at their place, anything that strengthens Fulham's defence is going to be good for us!
So you're already writing Fulham off as competitors of ours. Blimey.

The more I think about Dunk 'refusing to play', the more it sickens me after we stuck by him in his dark days.
He did nothing wrong, nothing at all. The club didn't do him any favours, the club looked after their investment.

Well he's either refused, or its a classic Bridcutt-style "my heads not right boss".
Where is the proof of this? CH chose not to play him, but when called to go on he was ready to go, until Stephens pulled up and we had to use JFC.

Strange analogy? You would like to strengthen another teams defence because we took 3 points off of them after 2 league games with arguably one of our best players.

5m? Dunk would be worth more than that if promoted, if he stays and helps us get promoted then how much would that be worth to the club. Fulham could just as easily be on the flip side.. play off contenders this season and we would be sick as a dog if Dunk helped them secure the points and we were to miss out.

I'm trying to think of how many of the clubs who got promoted the last few seasons sold their best players?

Burnley.

Ah so the 'big fat liars' are those claiming he has refused to play, when on fact he hasn't ? ???

Without going over the whole thread, as I understand it the O.P. has now either retracted what he said or at least has doubts about it. One other poster claimed Dunk refused to play at Fulham but as far as I remember nobody else has backed this up.

If that's enough proof of guilt for you then I hope you're not on my jury when they come for me

Selling one of our best players to another team in the same division does not look good. We bloody well better have a good replacement lined up.

none
has anyone actually heard from the player or anyone at the club saying he WON'T PLAY or is this pure conjecture?

Bournemouth sold Grabban. Burnley sold Austin. I agree with you though.

Well he's either refused, or its a classic Bridcutt-style "my heads not right boss".

Pretty shoddy for a well-paid professional to behave either way.

If indeed he has, right? Perhaps it's Hughton's decision as he knows that Uwe is comfortably capable enough to fill in, whilst also taking Dunk out of the public eye for a few days may be good to give him a break.

In terms of £5m, I'd take it if it were coming in from a Premier League side. Fulham? They're a direct competitor, so I'd want at least an extra £2m.

The only players that are 'loyal servants' nowadays are the duffers that nobody else wants. Think the last one we had was Kerry Mayo. Players nowadays need to move onwards and upwards to claim their place on the gravy train and secure their family's future. And who can blame them. They're a very long time retired.

Let me introduce you to Uwe Hunnemeier (we could probably do with another CB if Dunk is sold) but, unlike last year, we seem prepared for eventualities like our best players being sold.

County Oak? As in near Gatwick? So could of been catching a flight..

No its in Hollingbury near Patcham.

Which begs the question why was Dunk in Hollingbury? I didn think he lived out that way?

Look, you don't start chopping and changing your centrebacks without there being a damn good reason. A settled defence is crucial, and Hughton is a naturally cautious manager. Hunemeier had barely got his duty frees packed away before being pitched straight into the side, so I think we can safely summise that "something was up".

If Dunk is right now driving around Sussex in his Range Rover then its pretty clear why he was dropped on Saturday and why he missed last Tuesday, no ?

5 million !... preferable to a Prem side sure, but Its got to the stage where we should sell to whoever it is for that money, move on and get our targets in.

Warren Aspinall has. He was adament they are a poor side, and even if we sell Dunk to them, they won't be "there or thereabouts" at the end of the season.

To be fair Fulham were pony. Apart from a lucky worldie and hitting the post (which we also did, well crossbar) and a couple of powder puff shots they didnt really trouble us with their hoof it Smith tactic.

Yes, maybe CH thought Dunk's performance might drop. That's not the same as Dunk saying 'oh, my head's not in the right place guv'.

We don't know for sure that he's not traveled with the team, but even if he hasn't, maybe he's driving around Sussex because the club have told him he's being sold. It doesn't mean he's refusing to play, or that he's being a Bridcutt.

They have strikers we'd love to have, their midfield seemed ok, and they're strengthening defence with huge bids for players like Dunk, and we could have easily lost. A bit earlier to write them off IMO.
