Carswell, the one MP they have, wouldnt be drawn into endorsing Farage last night, with a possibility of him returning to the Tories. The antics have begun

Is there really a possibility of that happening? I can't find a reference to it online.

I can't really believe it would ever happen, he'd be a busted flush.

Utter, utter shambles of a party.

From Farage's own book "The Purple Revolution":

“The consequences of me failing to secure a seat for myself in the Commons would be significant for both myself and the party."

“It is frankly just not credible for me to continue to lead the party without a Westminster seat."

“What credibility would Ukip have in the Commons if others had to enunciate party policy in Parliament and the party leader was only allowed in as a guest?

“Was I supposed to brief Ukip policy from the Westminster Arms? No – if I fail to win South Thanet, it is curtains for me. I will have to step down.”

And from his resignation speech:

"Now, I said as this campaign went on that if I didn’t win I would stand down as leader of Ukip. I know that you in the media are used to party leaders making endless promises that they don’t actually keep, but I’m a man of my word, I don’t break my word, so I shall be writing to the Ukip national executive in a few minutes saying that I am standing down as leader of Ukip. I will recommend that pro-temp they put in place as acting leader Suzanne Evans, who I think has emerged from this campaign as an absolute tower of strength within Ukip.

She works in London, she’s based in the London office and I think that’s the right way for us to go."
same as the greens, yeah ?

But that's Farage talking, not Pavilionaire. The leader of UKIP himself believes he has no credibility.

To be honest, I have no issue with a party leader not being in the commons, but saying you will quit and then not doing so - deary me. Not the sort of behaviour you'd see at the head of one of the country's proper political parties.

The UKIP ruling body must have freaked out when he didnt win his seat. They KNEW they were fecked The talk on NSC regarding he was wanted by the members is pretty laughable.

Leave off simster , you're joking surely ? Or am I being whooshed, every single one of them would do the same if they were in that position, you only have to look at the way Blair reneged on the granita deal with brown, integrity is not a word associated with politics.

But, UKIP are 'different'. They are the new 'Earthquake' in British politics, not in it to line their own pockets.

The only one getting frustrated is you. Your constant obsession with bringing UKIP into every thread. UKIP won ONE seat, hardly earth shattering and your need to get upset. It won't make a blind bit of difference to you in Prague. Meanwhile the people in the UK are more concerned with what happens now and in the next five years.

Yes. Laughing at UKIP is my outward sign of frustration, and being upset. Yes, im very upset UKIP won a single seat, with the incumbant MP now refusing to endorse Farage as leader, with a possibility of him returning to the Tories.
I realise it is upsetting for you seeing uncomfortable posts about UKIP. On a UKIP thread. Deal with it.

You're like a teenage girl whose been binned by her first boyfriend, professing to laugh at and 'not bothered' by them , all the while a seething mass of rage and indignation, as withdean 11 correctly says, you're obsessed.

....and will continue to laugh at UKIP as they really are the gift that keeps on giving. I look forward to laughing at more ****ups from the tossers, as you know, as well as I do, they will do/say something stupid as usual, on a weekly basis.

Yes, I dont live there, but as ive told you REPEATEDLY, I intend to retire in the UK. You keep forgetting that bit for some reason. Suits your, to use a favourite UKIP phrase, it 'suits your agenda'.

I want UKIP because I want a fair referendum on the EU. I want the facts for and against so I can make the right decision and the question is put to us correctly and not put in a way to confuse people. That is one reason for Farage to hang around.
