This is a phenomenal piece of business. Bloom will no doubt get the plaudits but I think Barber deserves a lot of credit here.

If Ulloa was going to leave £8-10m is ridiculously good work.

Gutted to see him go. Losing him, Barnes and Bridcutt, while good business, were 3 sales I was very sad to see. Good luck to the big man.

An amazing deal and yet another indicator of just how the club has progressed. I know transfer fees are inflated but to see an Albion player sold for a potential £10m deal is mind boggling in the context of where we were a few years ago.
.

A few years ago I doubt the entire squad was worth £10m, in fact the club probably wasn't worth £10m!

Unbelievable business, however it just has to be reinvested into the team.

Oh and for the record I wish Leo well but I have my doubts about him at that level, with that fee over his head he won't have much time up there to prove himself. He'll either play a big part in keeping them up or will drop back with them after 1 season costing Pearson his job. I think it might be the later. Leicester seem to be still mainly buying top end Championship players, I'm not sure that is going to keep them up.

This will be with the expectation of being relegated but coming down with a very capable squad who are not on high wages. Platform for promotion again. A few seasons yo-yoing and then a solid lower Prem side like WBA. And if they get lucky - they may stay up (like Palace) - and they'll be doing so with a relatively cheap squad. Seems like a good plan to me.

That is an amazing deal that we couldnt refuse well done Tony, Paul & Co. Obviously some of this will be reinvested in the team even if only 20% it will ensure that we are competitive and help to meet the financial objectives.

When you compare what we let the likes of Bennett and No one go for to what Palace seem to get for their average players, we have let them go on the cheap.

I think we got a good price for the 2 of at a reported 1.5m each: Bennett had played no higher than League 1; Noone was our 3rd choice winger who we'd paid 200k for 18 months before.

The fees we got for Bridcutt and Barnes were also very good given their respective positions, abilities and contract lengths at the time.

20%? I hope it's a bit more than that.

Bennett and Noone were probably about their price given what they've achieved in the PL.

TB getting a lot of credit but who would have negotiated this as I suspect TB didn't do the deal directly? Also as much as the money could help with the squad building many have said that our wage structure prevents signings so nothing changes there.

Very well done to Paul and Tony :clap2: That is fantastic business, sorry to see him go but that really was an offer we couldn't refuse.

Why should it be? £500k allegedly for COC still leaves £1.1m for either a goal keeper, left back or striker 2 of which will probably be loans. I will be happy with that.

I wouldn't be. We need a permanent striker in not a loanee. I would hope that we'd spend at least £4-5M of the fee we received for Ulloa.

A few years ago the entire squad and stadium weren't worth 1 million, let alone 10.

I found an old programme from our Pissfilled days and the squad was unbelievably dreadful so to see one of ours go for an upfront fee of £8,000,000 really does show what a great backroom Tony Bloom has assembled. I wonder how big that grin is away from the cameras...
