I'd love to be wrong and probably am
I'd love you to be wrong too, but I'm not confident you are. If we get an offer for Ulloa that's too big to turn down, then we have to get replacements, and they're not easy to find - the club has to be looking for those in case Ulloa goes.

We'll also be looking for other players that aren't dependent on selling Ulloa though.

I reckon we have 7 vacancies in the squad :

Goalkeeper
Left back
Central Defender 1
Striker 1

Attacking Midfielder
Striker 2
Central Defender 2

I'm sure there is a policy to promote 2-3 from the dev squad each year, so to save money perhaps Monakana, Fenelon, and Rea ( or Maksimenko ) will fill the last 3 of these.

I still think as a minimum, and certainly without any 'bedwetting', that we require 4 new signings, clearly the earlier the better. I suspect 2 of these will be season long loans.

This assumes we do NOT sell Ulloa, or Buckley, or any others.

This is the bedwetting part. It would be better to sign a decent player in a month's time than any old sod now.

We started that game already beaten because the squad had NO faith in Oscar.

I'm not so sure that is true, and we were only one goal down after the home leg. It was always going to be difficult l agree, but certainly not impossible, Faith or no faith in the manager, the players should be playing for their own self esteem too.

I'm in agreement, the clock ticks but it could be argued that we are striving to get players but are somewhat down the pecking order in the recruitment stages, the players will be signed,i would be concentrating on a minimum of 4 players to start the season and then add possibly another 3 as the season gets under way..

We missed out on the Oriant winger and Westwood - Both of these would have been good signings. We seem to prefer signing unheard of players like Toko and that player from the Aussie league that fell through. Presumably much cheaper.

Just out of interest, what did happen to the Aussie? It seemed to die really quickly. I'm not making any points here, just wondering

We've still got over 4 weeks before a ball is kicked in anger, have some patience. At least wait another 3 weeks before wetting the bed (if you can't help yourself) and even then we still have a squad that's good enough to be beating Sheffield Wednesday on AUGUST the 9TH.

As others have said a weaker squad than the one that failed to beat them last year and a squad that injuries to say Greer and Bruno would leave the back 5 to include Ankers, Chicksen, Dunk and Maskimenko as it stands.

I think we are strong enough to allow the clock to tick for another few weeks without worrying too much. Let others splash the cash early and end up over paying - I thought that McCormack for 11m was bad enough until I learnt that PSG had already paid 50m for Luiz!

What a poor post this is.

Firstly, to say we 'missed out' on those two players suggests that we definitely bid for them. As far as I know, the Westwood rumours were only that, and whilst we were seemingly interested in Adubajo, there is a big difference between that, and actually making an offer.

Your next bit is presumably an attempt at a joke? We signed a full international, with significant experience at the top end of the Swiss top division and of European competition, over a winger from League One, because he'd be 'much cheaper'?

Nice one.

I thought Mc Cormack was worth about £7m,did not realise that Fulham among others had bid £10m plus, still that's the going rate these days, besides i am pleased we have extended Jake and Walton's contracts, especially Walton's..

As for PSG? let's hope they went watching the other evening :lolol:

There's ignorance, and there's having other stuff to worry about in July (and life in general) rather than BHA not having 2 players for every position.

You are of course right....but then the odd comment expressing a little concern isen't out of place ...I find none of what's happening unusual ...but its obvious we need a couple of players in key positions ..its not just a case of making up the numbers ...still four weeks this Saturday it all kicks off....looking forward to it com what may

For all those lambasting people for showing concern about the clubs signings, we were told over a week ago they were going to get in two for last Friday, if that was indeed the case that makes out transfer policy a week behind schedule already and missing one or two players that will probably be mainstays in our first XI all season for the club bonding trip.

But of course it's no biggy, I'm sure Sami will understand as to why his first transfer requests weren't met before a big trip.

It'll be mighty interesting as to how many of these people thinking it's ok to get the new recruits in as late as is needed feel when we go on an early losing streak due to the lack of gelling in the squad. I expect to see some Sami OUT from the same people going IT'S 4 WEEKS AWAY :D

Classic NSC.
