The profit from that deal would be about 4M. So could we get a player as good as, or better than Leo, for that much? I don't think so... (our next highest currently active goal scorer in our squad is our left back...).

You've answered your own question: yes.

Do people realise what a coup finding Leo actually was - Probably Gus' finest acquisition ....strikers of his standard don't come around easily or as cheaply....keep keep keep for as long as we can.

Really - I dont think he is. Since his injury he has been a shadow of his former self. I would definitey take 6.5 million for him assuming all the cash would be reinvested in the team.

He definitely was last season. I think when properly fit and with the right players around him, he is easily Prem class and one of the best players in the Championship, no question. He took teams apart for fun towards the end.

We need a mobile striker along side Leo.
The attacking unit need to play around the lynch pin, Leo is integral to Oscar's scheme.

When players like KLL, Buckley, Lingard, CMS and to a lesser extent the lightly used March, have been available they have played WITH Leo not instead of him.

He had a bad injury and struggled when he returned.
He's been Murrayesque in defence, and scored some great goals.

What more is the fella supposed to do?

Spot on.

Gus's, or David Burke's...?

Genuine question.

Of course Leo is Premier class. He is better than the strikers at a third of current Premier League clubs:

Neither Cardiff or Fulham have a striker as good as Ulloa. I like Whittingham, but he's looked out of his depth in the Premier league. Norwich probably have a decent striker but of course he hasn't scored since the opening day of the season, so I can't imagine he's all that popular.

And I think you could probably make a case that Ulloa is better than all of team's forwards from 9th downwards without being laughed off. Let's see who else comes in for him...

Brighton / Hove actually
At least Sunderland will have to offer more than that if Poyet still wants him. So in a strange way thank you Leicester for setting the starting point, rather than us getting derisory offers from one club.

If he had not scored in the 92nd minute, would you say he had a good game? No, would be the answer. He is slow, misses chances regularly and even misses the ball on occasions, see Wards goal ! Saying that, no I would not sell, especially for 6.5m. I want to see him improve his touch and pace and also see him playing with CMS or Hoskins. It can't be a coincidence/luck that CMS put that cross in perfectly for Ulloa..

I suspect 6.5 million doesn't 'meet our valuation'.

With our track record of selling the family gold on the cheap, you're probably right.

LCFC We'll give you 6.5 mill for Ulloa

BHA Never, your offer is ridiculous....... 2.25 million and a non disclosure, we make 250k profit, everyone's a winner!! :dunce:

and even misses the ball on occasions

:lolol: I fully accept that the Forest game wasn't his best up until that point, but "even misses the ball on occasions" is one of the most ridiculous criticisms I've ever seen of a striker :lolol:

Believe it or not, I imagine that Cristiano Ronaldo has missed the ball on occasion, as has, shockingly, Lionel Messi.

Or...

Celtic: "Hello, Brighton? We'd like to offer you £350,000 for Adam Virgo".

Dick Knight: "£1.5 million and he's yours".

Celtic: "Aye, that sounds fair. Done".

Dick Knight: <swinging round in swivel chair, stroking white cat> "Mwahahaha".

That was meant slightly tongue in cheek but you must admit he does miss some shockers, penalty against Blackpool, was it?

If he never made a mistake he wouldn't be playing second division football.

What do you expect £3m to get you in soccerball, Messi Ronaldo & Bale!

All strikers do though, don't they? Barnes was well known for interspersing his goals with bad misses, Glenn Murray also.

Ulloa is rarely subbed & I think that's because Oscar feels he's always capable of getting himself into the right place, regardless of how poor a game he seems to be having (and yes, I thought Forest wasn't one of his better days, until 93 minutes).

End of last season, well, January onwards, he was great. I am sure he can get that form back, especially if Cms, Lualua etc can put quality crosses into him. As I said, I would not get rid, I would just like a bit more from him and I do realise he can have an off day, I would just like them to be rare days!:)
