I've just caught up with all this. Nearly a day later, is he any closer?

2) Sky Sports confirmed that Sunderland have had a bid accepted for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

The Black Cats have been linked to a number of Brighton's key players early in the transfer window, which was to be expected when Gus Poyet landed the Sunderland job in October. Brighton will be keen not to lose any more first team players in January, and will now be actively seeking a replacement for their departing instrumental midfielder.

Is this accurate? A new web page for me.

NOTHING is shown on the Sky News page.

Ive had a look at the website, and it says it was posted fourteen hours ago, so I can't see it is kosher

Very well written!

Don't be too impressed, it's a cut and paste from page 115 of Schindler's Ark (the book that was filmed as Schindler's List) with Bridcutt's name substituted for Oskar Schindler's. Two minute job, maybe less.

Well I'll be sure to pass on my regards to Thomas Keneally then

I thought it unlikely that Bridcutt's house had a tin roof. Rest of it had me convince though.

I agree with you. Not right.

However, the original bid was kept secret, so this could be a leak.

If i was on 2.5k a week (probably close to his salary) and was offered £15k a week for another team - id still leave even if it was my boyhood club.

This would mean he doesn't have to ever work after the age of 35-36.

I really doubt our best player is on £2.5k a week, and if he is, we have been fools not to offer him an increased wage when we made the championship.

2.5 crap price considering 2 championship player of year awards .

We never seem to get top dollar

I would be amazed if we accepted just £2.5m. I would have thought this would be the initial payment.

Edit: Having read the article, says the deal could reach £5m. That'd do nicely, cheers Liam!
