Possession means nothing with Pulis' style of football. Man City are always going to have most of the ball at home. Had you watched the game you'd have known that Palace played extremely well, had the same amount of shots on target as City and but for a few stunning saves from Hart would have gotten a deserved point.

For reference, possession stats:
2-0 win over Cardiff : 44%
1-0 win over Villa: 35%
1-0 win over West Ham: 37%
1-0 win over Hull: 38%

Joe Hart got City MoM today. Of course it's comforting to go to the best team in the division and consider yourselves unlucky to lose 1-0 (the best result any side has had at the Etihad all season). Palace are staying up whether you like it or not.
Yes of course you are :nono:

Still out of the bottom three ( Sunderland game pending) going in to new year, who would have thought ??
Hart had more saves to make, some top drawer ones.
Roll on NYD, beat Norwich and we go above them.

All I can see there is a jumble of meaningless words followed by the fact that Palace lost. I quite like it when they lose and am nothing more than mildly irritated when they don't , ho hum.

Irrespective of the immaterial b......t, you get no points for possession or bad luck, so you still lost another game and if it continues you will be relegated.

If you scrap for enough 1 -0 wins you win the league.

Exactly , Pellegrini knew he could make 6 changes and rest players. Once they took the lead it was simply a case of taking it steady for the 3 points and treat it like a training ground exercise.

Actually, if our form continues we'll survive comfortably. Palace's results under Pulis have been fantastic, we're improving with every game and as it stands we're outside the relegation places.

He was given MotM on the basis that he was the only Man City player to break into a sweat this afternoon

Manchester City goalscorer Edin Dzeko: "It was a hard game, maybe the toughest at this stadium in the Premier League this season. It was the last game of 2013 and we wanted to finish with a win."

Clearly you didn't watch the game, or you'd have heard the MoM announcement. Mmm, if we were battered, then what were Norwich, Arsenal and Spurs?

Palace are currently outside the relegation places in the league above Brighton, with a far superior squad and much more money. You have absolutely nothing to brag about.

Joe Hart was given the official MoM. As usual Footsoldier, you talk utter drivel.

The official man of the match. Given by those who paid to sponsor the match. Who are usually drunk and/or know very little about football. Who would vote for a 'keeper having seen a largely insipid display from the City outfield players and/or gave a sympathy vote to a player who performed with one eye.

Presumably the record books will record the game thus:

Manchester City 1-0 Crystal Palace *

(* but Joe Hart was man of the match)

16 points is certainly a few more than many thought Palace would have at Xmas but still a long way to go before they are safe. They are being helped by how crap the teams around them are eg Fulham, Norwich, West Ham. Cardiff could be in the mire very soon too. Its a potential 6 pointer for Sunderland tonight.

Big Sam will be on his bike soon. Who would take the Cardiff job? Its critical who they appoint as managers. Pulis was a good appointment and maybe it was early enough in the season to make a difference, I'm not sure the others will be so lucky.

Looking at Hull in mid table tonight ok it is reward for them spending shrewdly ahead of this season - but thinking back just how close we got to them and how we played them off the park at the KC makes you wonder how we would have got on in the Prem if we had strengthened in a similar way?
