A stain has just texted me that William, Willliam Buckley is running down the wing for them and we are limping to the bank with no ambition but £3.5 m in used ten pound notes. Anyone else hearing this~?

That is a worry because I heard EXACTLY that last night.

Would be very surprised if we took £3.5 million for Buckley. Would show a worrying lack of ambition from the club when we should be looking to improve the squad, especially as Watford apparently have a sell on. £5 million would be the minimum I would ask for.

The sums are starting to add up , with CMS , Bridcutt and Buckley sold Gus will have cash to splash.

Don't Stains have enough wide players already?

I suppose Buckley would be attractive for many Clubs as he would command a more realistic fee than Zaha.

I really hope this is just speculation because WB is one of few flair players we have and can ill afford to lose him. But I suppose everyone has their price and if Gus can really get
£3m then maybe it might happen.

They started at Stoke, with Do Prado wide left. Buckley is a better player than him.

Their only real wingers are Puncheon and De Ridder. Neither are anything special. I actually think WB would be a good buy for them. Hope its not true, obviously.

They are CERTAINLY interested it would appear.

My old man's just come back from Prague, and by complete coincidence bumped into someone who turned out to be a good mate of Will's at the Sparta Prague stadium when taking a photo of his group. He had no connection to Brighton, but said that he has heard from a couple of people that Southampton have made serious inquiries.

Would be worrying if so. We look so uninspiring without him in the side.

Puncheon is QUALITY. Obviously not watched any of Soton highlights.

Yep their wingers are pretty average. Puncheon seems to be back in favour, for now - but agree Buckley is certainly better and would probably enjoy firing in crosses for Lambert. It would hurt to see WB in a Stains shirt but wouldn't blame him for wanting to have a go in the Prem.

If we were in decent form ourselves and stronger contenders for the play offs then we would have an even better chance of players wanting to go up with us rather than be tempted elsewhere. Ideally we need a strong performance at Ipswich to boost morale and then give Newcastle a battering to get things back on track. Maybe we will have one or two new faces of our own by then? This could be a defining week for the rest of the season. I'm pleased we have the next two games so soon, hopefully we will see a backlash after the disappointment of the Watford game.
