I wouldn't trust Gus to buy a sherbet dip in terms of strikers.

If a player gets a good offer to go to a Premier League club, you can hardly blame them. Hopefully if there's anything in this then Buckley can be persuaded to stay until the end of the season at least and leave then assuming we haven't sneaked into the top flight somehow (by which time Saints may have been relegated anyway).

No point in him staying to the end of the season we do not have any one with the skill to convert the chances he creates into goals , if we had signed strikers in the summer we would be in the top 2 no doubt, and in that position players like Buckley would not consider leaving. The majority of our players have premier league ambition an ambition it is now obvious the club do not share, the only way these players will acheive playing in the premier league will be to move on and they all know it,none of them are getting any younger. Not sure how long we will be able to afford the likes of Gus and Tanno either to be honest.

Of course you can't blame them. Loyalty is not a word that a modern day footballer understands. If this 'rumour' has any meat on it I guess Adkins won't be to keen to let Buckley stay here considering the position Southampton are in.

I have it on VERY good authority that Buckley is indeed going....into the Market Place Shopping Centre in Burgess Hill, or he was about 5 minutes ago at least

Was he pushing his shopping trolley miles ahead and then belting after it?

If Gus offload's Buckley, I'll lose even more confidence in him; and I haven't got a lot at the moment. It really is time that we stopped acting as a small time Championship club, and sought to keep our best players. How the hell else are we going to get to the promised land? Surely with the highest average attendances in the Championship we can afford to show a tad more ambition on the transfer front?

It's not really up to Gus. From a business perspective if the club stands to make a decent return then they may sell, but more importantly if a player has an opportunity to play at a higher level then they are understandably going to want to take it.

CDM? Why all the American style TLAs?

CDM is a common acronym, especially amongst younger audiences (under 25). Might not be as common for you older folks but for us younguns it's every day speak. You DO type CB, CMS, GK and so on, right? How is this any different.

Also on the topic of £7m, it might seem a little ambitious but in my opinion he is the most talented, and most consistent player in his position in the league. His reading of the game, positioning, ball control, jumping and heading is second to none in our squad. Where else could you find a player who plays like him, is English, and is 23 for less than £7m? I truly believe if he was a few inches taller he'd be offered a contract at a top 6 team.

Oh yeah and £4m for Buckley isn't too bad, he's young and English, but also injury prone and not consistent. Wingers are also the easier position to replace IMO. £3m profit on a two year player is good going, especially if we can get Benno back for £2m-£3m.
