Our lowest gate this season

Not surprising - poor run, 200 away fans and a Tuesday night game.

Yet, despite this, it has not been possible to buy a pair of the cheapest tickets (£24 adults) since the weekend, and before the weekend the choice for such tickets was woeful.

Yet, 2/3rd's of the south stand were empty and the SE corners were completely empty.

How many more people would go if they had a choice? Last season there was better choice, despite 5000 more seats.

The club quickly realised that away fans did not care for the side seats at £34, so these are now offered to home fans. Problem is, there is little else on offer.

I have asked the question on ATC

All those of you who don't like any criticism of the club look away now ...

It's a valid point. My son works Saturdays and I've been unable to attend evening games due to work committments, so last night was the first time we went together since Newcastle. As we wanted to sit together I knew I wouldn't be able to ponce two STs, so I treated him. On the on-line ticketing systems it said the South Stand was 'unavailable', so I spent £70, yes £70 (including booking fee) on two East Stand Lower tickets to watch Peterborough Utd. I was a little bit miffed to see all the spaces in the South.

My hat goes off to you for shelling out that amount. How many others did not? Of these, how many will not even bother to look again? And how many will tell their mates/colleagues that there is not point watching the Albion if you don't have a season ticket as it's always sold out apart from crappy £34 seats.

I was wondering WHY teams choose to play on a Tuesday rather than a Wednesday* - there are Champions league matches on terrestrial on Tuesday for a start. Why compete with that if you don't have to?

* as it happens, Tuesday was better for us this time anyway because we played on the Friday rather than Saturday.

34 quid to sit in a lower tier is far too expensive. It's simply not right that the club charges so much - we can't all commit to going to every game.

I was lucky enough to see three games last week: Lens v Clermont (24 euros), Lille v Toulouse (20 euros) and Brighton v Leeds (34 pounds). Just shows how much we are being fleeced in England and in Brighton, in particular.

The low take-up of tickets for last night's game may hopefully make the club think about its pricing policy.

The pricing is maybe for another discussion, and was not an issue for Leeds, nor will it be for any big club. However, the point here is why are the cheaper tickets not even being offered.

In this day and age, I don't see too much to complain about at £24 for a seat in our stadium, however, if only £34 ones are being offered when the £24 are empty, I think there is an issue - hence this thread and my question on ATC.

Agreed. I am NOT moaning about the price per se (I think it is a bit steep for Peterborough, but no one forced me to pay it), more the fact that the cheaper seats weren't on offer. I could have spent £20 more on beer.

Yes, but not on terrestrial.

Sorry. But the day we have to organise our fixtures to accommodate ChamPions League matches involving the top 4 is the day we might, as supporters of lower league clubs, pack up and go home.

Sorry to sOund pompous but anyone who sees CL on the TV and Brighton at home as a dilemma is not the sort of Person we need at Falmer.

Hands up who thought 2 seasons ago there would be threads on here about our lowest attendance (23k+)?

I just don't get it.

And you were quite right to ask. The club are being bloody annoying by only releasing the expensive tickets first - a real slap in the face.

All tickets should be in the 20s.

And, and despite playing a shit team and being on a losing run we comfortably still had the highest gate in the division last night despite Bolton, SW and Forest etc being at home as well.......

It doesn't sound pompous, just a bit dumb. How many non-STHs turned up last night? 1,000? There are many reasons for this; price, lack of availability of tix, current form, weather, football on telly. All I'm saying is that I don't understand the club not managing the things that are manageable. £34 for a ticket to watch Peterborough is absurd, especially on a night when there is football on ITV.

I know. Reasons why I think it was 23k last night.

1) Tuesday night match, midweek games are always less busy
2) People probably went out on Monday night for bonfire night, so couldn't be bothered tonight.
2) The opposition, it's not like Playing a Leeds or our local derby against Palace. Poor attendance from Peterborough didn't help. 100 according to the radio is pretty shocking. Actually it's shit for a Championship team.
3) May sound silly, but there is a bug going around at the moment, so people are ill at the moment. It's the reason I didn't go last night.

23k for a midweek is brilliant.
