Many said the same about Buckley and Vicente.

I don't understand the snide vitriol filled meanspiritedness towards Harley/Barnes/Navarro/Vicente/Ankergren and others. Have people got so little in their pathetic little lives that the only pleasure they get is from slagging off the players and others? Only two months ago we had the first of the "Gus, in or out" threads as went through a poor patch on the pitch.

Too many have short memories, no understanding of football finance and a chip on their shoulder.

Harley has shown some good touches, has excellent vision but has struggled to impose himself enough to regularly win a place in the team. I hope he turns it round because he could play an important role at some point later in the season, others would rather he fails because their assessment of him (or the others listed above) is more important than the Albion succeeding, and frankly that baffles me.

Baffles me as well.

He needs to install a weights room in is house, develop peripheral vision and have a synthetic rocket implanted up his arse. Then he might get a look in.

The thread was about Harley, not the others. He just isn't up to it imo ... not vitriol or abuse .. just not good enough

oh and btw .. don't lead a "pathetic little life"

Hopefully never seen to be an Albion shirt again.
He's a League One Footballer at best. The pace of The Championship does not suit him at all.
I still can't erase out of memory that awful penalty at Millwall...!!!

Trouble is, the boo-boys are running out of options to vent their spleen on. I think there are probably a few who were disappointed that Navarro scored at Leeds. A guy in the front of the North Stand Upper was in danger of taking the quick route to the 1901 club in his burning desire to abuse Navarro against Leicester last week. If Harley leaves, who else is there to pick on? I'm sure they'll find someone...maybe back to Ashley Barnes or Marcos Painter?

Wasn't that apparently on the advice of our GK coach that the Millwall GK would go one way or the other ! See old threads !

Or the Centre Forward whose contract we did not renew in was it 1984 - cannot quite remember his name ?

i don't mind him but i can't see him being at the albion next season

he's now quite far down the pecking order behind bridcutt, sparrow, navarro, vicente, jfc and even romain

it's going to be some turnaround to establish himself in the team now

It's not a question of lambasting anyone but if we want to progress as a team and achieve the aspirations of most (if not all) then players like Harley will have to move aside. I'd think that was pretty friggin obvious but for those that want him to be a part then all I can say is that you don't have ambitions

Or perhaps we prefer to see what Gus makes of it. There are a long list of players who have come good that have been written off by posters here.

So you don't have a view? Crikey no one here is challenging Gus's role as a Manager just commenting on their opinion of a player

I do have a view. My first sight of Harley against Posh was that we had found the player that would take us up. He was commanding, cool in possession, could pick a pass, and his movement looked good. And he knocked it in from 30 yards. Was that his debut - if so it was one of the best I have seen. So my view is that he can do it. He has not put in a shift and has apparently "bottled" a couple of tackles. It could be he is having problems adjusting his game to what Gus wants. Let's face it - if he is going to fit in - his is a pivotal role.

If Vicente is fit - there is no way Harley is in front of him, and JFK looks s great prospect so it is not going to be easy for Harley. But what I hope is that he is listening to Gus and learning, and watching Vicente and learning, and will raise his game to meet what is required because I have seen that he has the technique, movement, and passing we need, can hit a dead ball and if he can improve the other aspects of his game then he could be an important player for us.

But he hit a shit penalty - get rid. He bottled a tackle - get rid. He didn't chase back hard enough - get rid. All a bit unthinking for me.

Also - his dead ball technique is crap at the moment - which tells you he is not in the greatest of confident moods. Let's see him back and confident. But of course some people (and I am not accusing you or anyone here) would prefer to boo him. These are the greatest days and Harley can be part of it.
