Setting off for Withdean shortly - Snowing hard in E/B - got me thinking what is the coldest match attended

Mine is at Villa park circa late seventies Villa v Newcastle - the Whitton end was open terrace in those days A virtual white out blizzard started half way thru match - Feckin freezing with the Villa fans in the warmth of the Holt end singing - "We hope your balls Freeze Off - We hope your balls Freeze Off etc etc"

Whats yours

I remember a damn cold match at Oldham a few years ago. Ended up drawing 1-1 with a Dean Hammond goal I think.

Barnet away, one of the many Boxing Day matches with them. I think it was the day Paul Watson blazed a penalty about 10 feet over the bar! Freezing cold, absolutely horrible day.

Stoke away November 5th a couple of years ago. Not freezing as such but the wind cut through the open stands and made it seem alot worse

Blackpool away, back in the 70's. We were marched to and from the station, so couldn't stop anywhere to warm up.

Bristol City away back in the early 80s. News day and it was sub zero temps standing on the terrace and then to cap it all, the heater in the car we came back in packed in.

Barnsley away in the 80's sometime. F*****g hideous. I was only a kid but the only thing i remember from the game was that some pissed up albion fan threw up in the middle of the snow filled terrace. Charming.

Oldham's supposed to be the ground at highest elevation in English league and therefore probably the coldest.

Coldest game for me wasn't in the UK, it was in Belgium.

I went to a cup game that was an evening kick-off, the game went into extra-time and then penalties, finally finishing at about 10:45pm...all I can remember was that the pitch resembled an ice-rink, think the players were wearing trainers, and the temperature at the final whistle was something like -10C...although to be fair, I have felt colder during an away game at Stoke!
